Sad.

Live Earth India, which was scheduled to take place in Mumbai, India on December 7th, has been cancelled because of security fears after last week's terrorist attacks that left almost two hundred dead and hundreds more injured.

According to reports, the concert was designed to highlight environmental concerns and India's Light a Billion Lives solar energy program.

Bon Jovi and other booked acts were quick to cancel travel plans when the violence erupted, which prompted organizers to call off the sold-out charity event.

A British artist, Amar Dhanjan, who was booked to perform, thought cancellation was the right thing to do, "It's just not important compared to what's happening there right now."

Congrats to the American people who choose not to run to the streets and celebrate like it New Years Eve, unlike those in India who did exactly that during the 9/11 attacks.

    18. 18

Who the fuk would want to go there. If you're American, you might as well wear a shirt that says, Blow me the fuk up.

I can understand why they need to be cautious. JBJ looks kinda hot in that pic, BTW.

Perhaps there is some merit to these music makers, and "artistes" in general, after all.
Maybe they will wake up and pull their heads out of their asses and realize that terrorists killing hundreds of people in the name of Islam is more important than sitting around with flowers in their hair singing kumbaya.
One would think 9/11 would not have so soon been forgotten. The movement that caused 9/11 is still alive and well and at work like maggots.
And still we have Hollywood liberals in rose-colored glasses berating the Bush administration, who has been busy keeping the U.S. safe for the last seven years.

thank god they cancelled! did they finally realize that terrorists do not care if they are 'famous'? I am really glad they cancelled because it would be another reason for the terrorists to attack and put innocents at harm all while protecting the 'performers'. why not change the venue and try to help the ones affected by these inhumane attacks?

    29. 29

Well thank god it was cancelled!!!!!!!! I'd die if something happened to my Jovi boys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    30. 30

      I'd pump Bon Jovi.

some of the comments on here are disgusting. there are people unjustly being killed in an area halfway around the world, and you're too preoccupied with the fact that you're all safe. it's something called SYMPATHY. hope you all have a swell time in hell.

    32. 32

yes it fuckin is important—you can do it by teleconferance you dont have to be in person onstage=- if the show is cancelled then the terrorists win–the canadian guy who returned from mumbai after the attacks said expressly that even though it is sad and horrific event people must go there to support the great people of the city and help keep it from loosing out on visitors which aid the economy. besides that the environment and the new solar energy program is important and at least they should speak about it at the other venues. don't let the terrorists win with fear..be smart and obviously carefull but still give support in any way you can.

    33. 33

These concerts do nothing but rack up a huge "carbon footprint" anyway. Good riddance!

    34. 34

gawd look at that pic. its beautifulllllllllll!!!!!

    35. 35

Let me just say something very shallow: the man is still HOT!!! Love that he let the hair on his chest grow back…:)
