Sean Penn Requested More Sexitime In Milk Script
Sean Penn wanted more out of the Milk script than just a possible Oscar and a kiss from co-star James Franco.
In a new interview with Elle, Franco reveals that he was surprised by a revised version of the script sent to him a month after Van Sant asked him to be in the film.
While the original script featured only one kissing scene, the new script contained a full-on love scene.
When Franco asked Van Sant about it, the director replied, "Well, it was Sean's idea."

Sean has always been known for being an intense method actor and adding or deleting from scripts to make the story more believable. He's obviously done the same in this case and felt that a kissing scene somehow didn't support or give depth to the relationship that he felt should be portrayed. After all, if you're a straight actor playing a gay role you shouldn't be too surprised if there will be a representational love scene. I mean real gays don't just stop kissing at the bedroom door - what's so shocking about seeing it for real?
