Britney Spears' much-hyped documentary "tell all", For the Record, didn't live up to expectations.
Only 3.7 million people tuned in Sunday night on MTV to see Brit open her heart.
Compared to other MTV ratings 'hits', Brit was less than impressive.
In its Season 3 heyday, The Hills averaged 3.9 million viewers per episode.
And, Tila Tequila's season one finale of A Shot At Love scored 6 million viewers.

I actually watched it with a group of 15 friends and we all thought it was sad and compelling.

It was on so late in the evening, plus on a Sunday night. I think more people would have watched it if it was on during normal viewing hours.
I watched it and she has my sympathy - she is an amazing person with a double edged sword. She has it all, yet she's not able to enjoy it. I wouldn't want to live her life, after a week I'd be shaving all my hair off too.
That's because she's fucking pathetic.
Most people had better things to do than watch some medded out zombie giggle and laugh and twirl her hair while telling us the "real" story. Um yeah, no thanks. I'd rather sit in church all day.

The reason I think not many people watched it was because MTV picked a bad day to play it. Sunday many people were traveling back home from their Thanksgiving holiday. I was driving back home from Miami && that's why I didn't watch it myself!! I really wanted to though :./
And also if you check with MTV they were happy about the rating they thought it did pretty good so I dont know where this only 3.7 million viewers things was negative and a bad rating MTV thought it did pretty well….Perez is just a hater honestly you cant say something good without something bad get over yourself.

I taped it on my DVR. I actually found her to be quite down to earth and honest in the documentary. And she didn't talk in her "baby voice." GOD do I hate those freakin baby voices. Her and Paris are notorious for it.

I actually almost fell asleep watching it…for those millions that did not watch it, you did not miss anything. All of the so-called "juicy bits" were already leaked/stated by the media.

You also need to remember that MTV Canada didn't have the rights to the doc, Muchmusic did; so all of the Canadian viewership is not represented (whereas The Hills and A Shot At Love are shown on MTV in Canada) so the numbers are a little skewed. You may want to take that into consideration before you start making false claims about ratings.
Low ratings because MTV will show that same documentary 53 Gazillion times…..so why rush to watch it!

I think people are just realizing that 90% of mtv is RERUNS, so people will catch it when they catch it.
The only differnce is that this show was aired on a Sunday late in the evening. The Hills and Tila Tequila are during the week during a reasonable time, when there is nothing else to do but watch those shows. MTV chose a dumb time to air the show.

i watched it last night, and i didn't understand the point!
it was about nothing.. she just did a bunch of weird things that made everyone believe she is just as crazy as she's always been. it seemed like there should have been a major purpose but they just never got to it.
i think she's talented and not bitchy, but her life has made her a little loopy, and she'll most likely always remain that way.
