      everyone has homosexual tendencies; on a 1 to 10 spectrum, some would measure at a 1, and "flamers" would be at 10+. some choose to acknowledge their homosexual side and others choose not to. even the Bible (and other holy scriptures such as the Torah and the Qur'an) acknowledges that homosexuality exists. that is why God included edicts forbidding homosexual acts.
      a person may have been born gay, but that does not give them license to partake in sexual acts with the same sex.
      also, the popular idea that "God made me gay!" is a fallacy. that's like saying, "God made me to steal!" or "God made me to kill!" homosexuality is a sin, like stealing, killing, etc. we are all born with a sinful nature, to steal, lie, kill, covet, etc. God did not make us this way, sin made us this way. the truth is not meant to be liked, but it is meant to be obeyed.
      i think that there are many people who deny their homosexual urges…not out of shame, but because they think it is the right thing to do.

      You describe theLaodicean movement, and there are churches certainly that endorse your statement. however, there are many christian churches of several denominations that do endorse Leviticus 18:22:Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

      The issue is not the Vatican not supporting gay marriage, the issue is that the Vatican, which crusades so much for the protection of ALL LIFE (including the unborn) is against a measure that would outlaw the imprisonment and EXECUTION of homosexuals. If the Vatican supports life so much, why on earth would they not support a measure to outlaw murder of a certain group.

      I can't think of any verses in the New Testament dealing with homosexuality but I think we can all remember the story of Sodom and Gomorrah. Gen chapter 19
      If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination;
      they shall be put to death, their blood is upon them. — Leviticus 20:13
      Sorry but the Catholic church is just following the standard set in the bible- which is what they should be doing as a church.
