Still Alive And Staying That Way

Patrick Swayze was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer earlier this year and not given long to live.
But new reports were surfacing that the Dirty Dancing star is near death.
So, Swayze has just released a statement to clear up some of those false reports.
The 56 year-old says he has been spending time at home with his family for the holidays, adding that he's just finished work on his new FBI drama television series, The Beast.
Swayze says, "The only thorn in my side being that many tabloids have been consistently reporting lies and false information about me and those close to me."
He added that lately "they're reporting that I'm on my last legs and saying goodbye to my tearful family. Pancreatic cancer is an aggressive disease and from the moment I was diagnosed, I knew I was in for the fight of my life. It's a battle, and so far, I've been winning. I'm one of the lucky few that responds well to treatment."
Let's hope he continues to respond well to treatment and can live a long life.

Pancreatic cancer is always fatal. Why? No symptoms until the pancreas is in the final stages of cancer at which point it is not curable. Keep it real Swayze. Blowing sunshine up peoples azzes who have pancreatic cancer with your pollyanna BS is not cool. Why not do some PSA's on it and educate people on why it is fatal and the treatments that may buy some extra time? If happy, wishful thinking cured pancreatic cancer it would not be 100% fatal to the 100% of people who get it.

My neighbour's brother had pancreatic cancer 5 years ago and is still alive and well. There are 3 parts of the pancreas where the cancer can develop and 1 out of 3 is the part that gives you a chance at survival. The head, the body and tail of the pancreas may be affected by cancer, I cannot remember which one is the best part to get cancer, I think it is the tail. Good luck Patrick, hope you have the GOOD cancer.

My Grandma has lung cancer and she was only given a year to live, but has stayed strong for two. The last few weeks she has been going downhill and has been given about a week to live.
My 16 year old friend also has cancer and it has totally and completely changed his life.
Cancer is terrible, NOBODY deserves that. I hope Patrick can stay strong!
