At a recent event, Gossip Girl creators and exec producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage admitted that they're no longer sticking to the books for the sake of television.
Josh hinted at a reprise of Michelle Tractenberg's character, Georgina Sparks, saying, "It’s safe to say you haven’t seen the last of her."
There is also rumor of a romance between Chace's and Taylor's characters, although Chase expressed some reservations regarding "because she’s [Taylor] so young and that would be weird."
It's called acting!
And, it's not a rumor - it's happening!

first of all the show anally raped the character of vanessa. she was supposed to be BALD and gothic! and dan, omg… he was the most emo character in the entire book. he was very dark. blair and chuck were NEVER in the books, nate and blair were together for like ever. there was a triangle between serena, blair and nate. although jenny and nate DID happen in the books. but nate left jenny to be with blair. oh, and lets not forget… chuck was bi in the books.
lets say it again.. the show anally raped the entire books. the books were 100 times better than the tv show.

Like the character Oliver in the the first season of The OC… that character was amazing for the show!! best episodes of the show ever… if they brought Oliver back later on, maybe their ratings wouldn't have gone down the tank.

They NEVER stuck to the book storylines. There are so many different things in the show and the books, it's so ridiculous. I was so obsessed with the book series as a teenager and when the show started I tried to give it a chance and it definitely does not compare to the book! It's good as a stand alone show, but they shouldn't have called it Gossip Girl!
so what if the tv show is different from the books??? the books were an inspiration for the tv show. the tv show has taken on a life of its own. it's a great show with very talented actors. stop hating. and just know what although the books were great, a lot of stuff that happened in the books would not translate to tv.

In the show Jenny is 15 and Nate is what like 17?? Taylor is actually 15 but Chace is 22 so I could see how that would be kind of weird. I'm 23 and wouldn't wanna be kissing a 15 year old. just my opinion … but all in all I think the show is great … and I don't think the show would be anything without Chuck … he cracks me up every monday.
