Her most recent video, Circus, features 'captive' elephants.
A PETA rep writes, "As Britney is such a victim of the paparazzi and always complaining and crying about how she hates to be held up in her guarded house and can't feel free, she of all people should be able to relate to the horror that captive animals go through when they're used for entertainment. Except Britney chooses to perform, and the lifestyle just comes with it. Animals are ripped away from their mothers at a young age, kept in chains, and prodded with electric shock devices to make them perform."

Honestly, PETA is a joke because instead of helping to solve the problem they make it worse by pissing people off. They won't tell you why it's wrong exactly, they won't really tell you how they are exactly mistreated, but they'll call you names and insult you.
They should release actual facts instead of attacking the people. And also, PETA is criticized by so many other movements and other animal rights organizations. And they also have hired celebrities as their representatives for their cause. Naomi Campbell anyone? Kate Moss?
PETA should focus on how to deliver their message as opposed to attacking you over and over again.

The problem here is they are criticizing Britney Spears over this instead of everyone involved with making the video and the actual people who "captivate" these animals and train them, then profit from them, using them for entertainment purposes.. Britney sure as fuck didn't go to fucking wherever the elephant was from, trap it, bring it back here, and train it just to be in her video..
