Fran Wants To Replace Hillary in the Senate
Caroline Kennedy isn't the only lady who has her eye on Hillary Clinton's soon-to-be-vacant Senate seat!
Former TV star Fran "the Nanny" Drescher thinks she deserves the important job.
She tels NY Magazine why she is a qualified candidate:
“I’ve just been given the appointment of U.S. diplomat,” says the Nanny. “My title is public diplomacy envoy for women’s health issues, and I just got back from a four-country European tour of duty. I believe next I’ll be sent to the Middle East.”
As an anti-cancer activist, the cancer survivor has helped to get some important health issues to the forefront.
“I’ve been very successful in getting a bill passed in Washington,” she says. “I was thinking I’d take the next four years to lay some groundwork, but I’m throwing my hat in the ring.”
But, most importantly, Frannie says, “I’m an authentic and honest person. And I think Capitol Hill needs more of that.”
Good points, but we're not sure that New Yorkers would want you repping them!
We assume they'd want a Kennedy over a loudmouth TV star!

I think she'd be alright. Sure her voice is annoying, but she seems very comfortable with poking fun at herself, and seems pretty cluey. You could (and often have) done worse. I'll reserve judgement.

god, if I HAD to pick between the 2, I would have to go for Fran. I am tired of kennedys using their name to get things. Carolyn was not even in the selection mix until she gave Paterson a call. Why can't a 'normal' person get the position, someone who understands what it is like to 'need', someone who knows what it is like to cut back, not someone who upon birth has never wanted. rumors have gone around for years that CKS and her husband live separate lives-this will just give her a legit reason for divorce. Case in point-LAST Month, the triboro bridge was renamed the robert kennedy bridge. Kerry Kennedy was running around yelling about her father's ability to see the future, that her father predicted that a 'negro' would be elected to president in 40 years. (rk said that the way race relations were going in 1968 that it was possible that a negro could be president within 40 years). Anyway, the triboro bridge, listed on all maps as such, is now no longer to be called that. while New York is one of the states that needs a bailout, the state was able to dig up $4million to make new signs for the bridge and take down the old ones. Instead of like putting it towards education or something crazy like that.
