Gossip Girl Spinoff News!

According to a new report, NONE of your favorite Gossip Girl cast members will be leaving the show for the spinoff.
That's because the spin-off is going to focus on the story of young Lily and Rufus and they're going to hire new actors to play those roles, say network snitches.
Lily is the mother of Blake Lively's character, Serena and Rufus is the father of Penn Badgley's Dan character.
Back in the day, socialite Lily dated rock and roller Rufus, much to the dismay of her snobby mother.
The spinoff will focus on Lily and Rufus' rock and roll New York romance.
GG insiders say the spinoff is scheduled to start filming in February.

UPDATE: We've just received an official statement from the Gossip Girl executive producers and Warner Bros. Television.
The execs say: "Contrary to the rumors and false reports breaking in the tabloids, there is no approved concept and/or confirmation of a “Gossip Girl” spin-off at this time."

I thought the idea of a spin off sounded stupid before, but this is actually a good idea. It sounded like they had quite the romance, should be interesting! The guy who plays Rufus better be hot!

Sounds interesting, can only wait and see how it is. If the writers are good and the storylines are solid the show should be good. I would watch it to see how it goes.
they should have done the it girl series, like that would have been soo good, instead of that one.
No i don't like it. It kinda limits the twists and turns that their characters can take in the original show. Plus we're goin to know most of their secrets already because we found out in Monday's episode that Lily had Rufus' baby… stupid idea. its gonna bomb.

i think this sounds like an excellent idea!! i love lilly's character! she is soo mysterious and has made all these mistakes and done some shitty things with her kids yet u would have never guessed that since she acts so perfect and classy all the time. love it! hated bart! what a bad actor he was no wonder they killed him off!!!!!

I LOVE IT!! LOVE that none of the cast is leaving because they are too good together, if they took one of them out of the ensemble (jenny, for instance, the rumoured spin-offer) it wouldn't be as good, but LOVe that it would tell teh rufus-lily story line because i'm dying to know about that past!
i think this would be much better than the jenny spinoff i love gossip girl and i want rufus to be with lily so bad i love them
