Kate Walsh's Husband Files For Divorce

That didn't last long!
After a swift courtship and a September 2007 wedding, the husband of Private Practice star Kate Walsh - civilian (non actor) Alex Young - has filed for divorce.
He cites the tried and true "irreconcilable differences."
The separation date listed is November 22nd - right before Thanksgiving.
He doesn't wanna have to spend the holidays with someone he grew to hate not love!

Key words there: "swift courtship"! Why do people not get to know each other before they get married?!? Why do people not date for a LONG time before getting married? It only seems logical that you'd want to get to know each other and make sure you're compatible before you get married and have to go through legal proceedings to be broken up!

Matter of time; surprisei t lasted this long. 100% arranged marriage. She's gay. He was getting paid - handsomely. But, he demanded a raise, she balked, he filed for divorce. Subject of several blinds. Pretty obvious, too.

I agree with Serena83 - why don't people take their time? You don't know enough about someone to marry them after only a year of dating. Although that doesn't mean it won't work, it makes the marriage a much greater risk. Poor Kate!
If she is looking for someone to pound her the right way in a "just broke up and my self esteem sucks so you can treat me like a Thai hooker" then I am definitely the person to call.

Re: Milky Milky-Ambassador to Canada – That is why I'm a huge supporter of dating and even living together, but not getting married! I especially hate when people bring children into unhappy marriages. I know three people that I went to high school with that were married young, right out of college or younger, and split up within two years! And they dated for years before they were married. It's sad to be divorced in your early 20's!
Oh, and I am very happily married even though I think most people should not get married! I knew my husband for five years before we got married, we dated the last two years of that, and have been married two whole months! Longevity of courtship definitely doesn't determine if you'll have a successful marriage, but it doesn't hurt. I definitely think it's possible for two people to know each other a week, get married, and be together for their entire lives, but it is very rare!

In California, there are only two options you can cite for wanting a divorce: irreconcilable differences or incurable insanity. So irreconciable differences wins out 99.99% of the time.

That's pretty damn depressing news to get around the holidays. It sort of makes you cynical when you're at that age because most of your peers have been married for at least a decade and the available dating pool with people your age gets incredibly small unless you're willing to date someone with kids or you totally want to skip out and find someone younger.

Or were divorced by 24-25, I myself have been dating my bf for about 3 yrs, it does get a bit frustrating but hey I'd rather technically still be single than have a divorce or two on my wrap sheet! Take you're time pep's!!!!! For God's sake don't get married because you're pregnant either!!!!!!!!!!!!
