KB Toys announced today that they are going out of business.

Liquidation sales will begin at their stores immediately.

Including seasonal employees, over 10,500 people will be affected.

      i was just thinking about KB yesterday. I used to love going there. It was smaller than Toys R' Us, but they always had what i wanted. Too bad. Another one bites the dust.

      So sad all these people are losing their jobs! I have been desperately searching for a job in Scotland, I'm very qualified, and cannot find anything! The job market is horrible everywhere right now.

      kb, like many that you are posting, have been on brink for a long time. they have been closing stores for years. and half the stuff they carry is old-fine for younger kids who don't know the difference, but not for anyone above the age of 5. Perez, do you not remember what your blog is supposed to be-you know gossip. If I wanted an analysis of the economy and future outlook, I would be on msn money or some other station like that. People don't like reading depressing stuff all the time. alot of people came here to get away from everyday life.

      KB has been in trouble for some time. I used to buy all my Star Wars action figures there back in the day. After my grandpa retired from being a cop he got a job doing security for them. He used to work the mid atlantic coast and travel every week . They gave him a sweet Dodge K car and put him up in the shitiest motels money could buy.

      Im surprised they actually lasted this long. For years- KB charged more for their toys that sit on their shelves four years after products came out. The only reason they had success was because it was convenient for Mall Moms to make their kids happy after they would spend hundreds of dollars on themselves in Macy's.

      yeah, i saw the filing papers… they have a ton of assets and liabilities. my bf works for a company that ships their toys out of new jersey…I sent him the story and he was like "I need to find out where you got that info on because we work with them" so yeah, you probably helped a lot by posting this today.

      This sucks because it was the only toy store left in alot of malls including the one I go to. Now I'm gonna be going to just Toys R Us, Walmart, Kmart for toys. I knew they wouldn't stay open. They always had stuff on sale. I guess I'll have to swing thru for some Christmas sales!

      Most of them shut down in 2004. It was weird to see they hadn't all shut down yet. KB Toys was the best job I have ever had! Not because of money but the company was great and it was so much fun. RIP KB Toys! Damn economy this is so scary

      As a republican, I'm completely disgusted about the backlash towards Obama. Hell, HE didn't do a damn thing about this economy-I'm talking about the idiotic poster blaming him for KB toys downfall.

      Of course, we can't go by a person who can't even form a coherent paragraph.

      BTW- Democrat blasters- It's apparent that we need a democrat in office to clean up the layer of filth the bush administration has covered our Country with. Use your eyes. Our Country is falling apart. It's time we fixed it.

      As for KB Toys. At first I was thinking Damn! My children are in for a GREAT Christmas this year. Then I thought about how more of our fellow Americans- UNSKILLED employees at that, losing more jobs, and it just makes me so sad for them.
