Remember that Scarlett Johansson interview we posted this past week from Cosmo U.K.? The one where she reveals all about her marriage and relationship to the super hot Ryan Reynolds????
Well, it was ALL MADE UP!!!!
Scarlett's publicist reveals exclusively to PerezHilton.com that Cosmo U.K. completely fabricated the whole thing.
So wrong!
Marcel Pariseau, Johansson's rep, tells us, "The quotes attributed to Scarlett Johansson regarding her marriage in the UK edition of Cosmopolitan are wholly fabricated. Ms. Johansson has at no point granted UK Cosmopolitan an interview, and she has never discussed her personal relationships with the publication. In fact, in an interview with US Cosmopolitan given prior to her engagement, (Published August 2008) Ms. Johansson states the following when asked about her relationship "I hate feeling like I have to share my personal life with anybody. So I'll take the normal celebrity route and just say I'm going to keep my personal life private."
The cover story is an obvious attempt by UK Cosmopolitan to gain monetarily by misinforming their readers. Ms. Johansson, who goes to great lengths to preserve an authentic representation of herself with respect to her fans and the media, is disappointed to see a seemingly reputable publication inexplicably publish a work of fiction at her expense."
Scarlett's publicist also tells us that the actress will be seeking "legal action" against the shady shady publication.
And rightfully so!

I understand the necessity of high level celebs maintaining some privacy and not wanting their personal life used as fodder for the gossip blogs.
But is it reasonable to demand people not ask about your marriage when you are an A list star married to a heart throb?
I think not.
If you stop talking about drama queens like Scarlett Johnasson they will lose their mind. they want the attention very much even as they deny it vehemently- so stop talking about them.

She's been in Cosmopolitan UK before, in 2005. So it's kind of nonsense to say she at no point granted the magazine an interview.
It may have been syndicated. It's attributed to a fairly well-known ents correspondent and one other person which suggests it may well have been a cuts job.
Legal action. Nice idea, but on what grounds? It's easier to get a libel case through in the UK than than the US, but you'd still have trouble proving anything in this is libellous. I'm struggling to see any grounds on which she could actually sue them. It's not malicious falsehood as it's not calculated to be financially damaging. It's not libellous as it won't lower her in the estimations of right-minded people or cause her to be shunned or avoided, or regarded badly by other members of her profession. So I fail to see how she thinks she's going to sue anyone. To be honest if the interview's glowing and doesn't contain any untrue factual statements I don't think she can do anything about it.
