Heath Ledger Golden Globe Dramz

Oh, the politics!
If Heath Ledger is awarded the Golden Globe, who will accept it on his behalf?
Well, that's an issue that's creating a bunch of dramz at the moment, according to a new report.
Heath's dad, Kim, really, really wants to do the honors at the ritzy event, but insiders say the Dark Knight studio, Warner Bros., want Michelle Williams to be the go to person, to receive it on behalf of little Matilda.
A 'friend' of the family chimed in, "Why would Michelle be involved? She had nothing to do with the movie. They weren't even together when he passed away. Would you have your ex-wife accept your award? And they weren't even married. [Director] Chris Nolan or [star] Christian Bale would make more sense. Michelle makes no sense. It's like those rumors that she would go to the premiere of 'Dark Knight.' That was never in the realm of possibility."
Put everyone's name in a hat, do the pick and be done with it!

Should be Michelle on behalf of Matilda, OR the Director . JMO of course!
I think he deserves it. In matilda's name =] Love you perez!!
Christian Bale and little Matilda should except it!! So sad, he should be here to accept his award!!
Why don't they both do it?
that friend of the family is prob the dad or sumfin, jerks, no matter what michelle is the mother of his child, and if she cant be there to accept it, then the cast of dark knight should.
MICHELLE WILLIAMS SHOULD ACCEPT IT, SHOULD HEATH WINS THIS AWARD POSTHUMOUSLY. HAVEN'T WE HEARD ENUFF FROM HEATH'S DAD ALREADY ??!!!
chris nolan should do it.
Def. needs to be accepted on Matilda's behalf.
Why would the director or Christian Bale make more sense accepting it on behalf of Matilda make more sense than Michelle? Yeah… it doesn't make sense.
but i could care less who does it.
I think in my opinion Michelle should be representing Matilda their daughter to do it. After all Michelle Williams loved Heath Ledger and gave him a daughter. Just because they were not together it doesn't mean she stopped loving him. The only reason I'm saying she would be the best fit is because in my opinion Heath would want it that way. It was one of his last movies were he will be nominated and he would probably want Matilda to remember it that way in the future that her mom herself went on that stage to accept the award. Heath's father doesn't give me a good vibe and he seems a full of himself. I can't stand the his father and certainly wouldn't want to see him there.
Christian bale and Matilda should accept it TOGETHER?
LMAO!
If anyone should accept it Matilda, It's Michelle, HER MOTHER! Not with a guy that co starred with her dad.
The "Academy" and everyone else who has a thing to do with these acting awards are all SO FULL OF SHIT. Heath should have been celebrated like this WHILE HE WAS ALIVE. He dies of a drug over-dose and now all the sudden he's winning awards. It's bullshit. But it's also notorious of Hollywood to do.
Heath's father, Kim, should bring Matilda, his own granddaughter, to the "ritzy event" himself and let her accept it on Heath's behalf….that way everyone gets what they really want.
If Warner Bros really wants Matilda to have it, then it shouldn't matter who is there with her (or without her) to accept it for her and for Heath.
And hell, if it's really that much of a big deal, can't the three of them get together and go do this? Or leave Matilda at home with an Aunt, a Grandmother or a Nanny and Michelle and Kim go do this TOGETHER? Would that be so much of a crime?
it should be Michelle because Matilda is his legacy.
I KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN. I EXPECTED MICHELLE WOULD ACCEPT IT ON BEHALF OF MATILDA……SHOULDA KNOWN. THIS TELLS ME HEATH'S FATHER IS GONNA PLAY HARDBALL WITH MICHELLE OVER THE ESTATE.
.
.
I'M TELLING YOU…THIS IS WHY YOU SHOULD GET MARRIED IF YOU HAVE KIDS. WE ALL CELEBRATE STARS WHO HAVE KIDS OUT OF WEDLOCK BUT IF WE DO IT WE'RE ADULTERERS.
Chris Nolan should do it, he directed him in the role, and its his movie. Bale, Michelle and Heath's dad don't make sense to me. And Matilda is too young. IMHO.
Omg, if Matilda herself went up there and accepted it (with whoever), I would cry for hours. That's what needs to happen.
All this bullshit they're going to arrange and watch him not even win…
Matilda and Michelle should accept if he wins.
OMG, are you serious? Why would Michelle WIlliams not accept it on behalf of Matilda??? It's all Matilda really has left of her Dad.
Plus, Michelle William loved Ledger and was heartbroken when he died, I don't see where this stupid talk of 'ex-wife' comes into play. It doesn't matter!
What matters is the best interest of the child and that would be to one day have a tape of her Mommy accepting awards on behalf of the father she will never know.
If Heath's father is being such a jerk that he and no one else should accept it, then all I have to say is WOW, what a selfish man. They could both accept it without this being a tug of war!
I actually agree that Heath's dad should be the one taking the award on his behalf… Michelle and Heath where not even together when he passed away and even though she will always be the mother of his only child, his dad was the one who gave him life and who oriented him during most of it and helped him follow his dreams and make decisions like moving to the US to work in Hollywood and others, I think will be a nice recognition for him cause must be hard to lose a kid under those circumnstances…
PFFT- misdirected anger anyone?! They were deeply in love and would have been together were it not for her trying to get him sober. She gave him an ultimatum. Not to lose him, but to save him and be with him. She's Matilda's mother, the love of his life. Michelle should be asked to accept. And, she stayed away from Dark Knight's premier NOT because she wasn't invited, but because the wounds were still to fresh and she is NOT a publicity hound!!
I think Michelle should get it and bring Matilda on stage with her
.
.
LG ALWAYS IMAGINES THIS IS HOW SARWHORE'S QUEERFACED HUBBY LOOKS AFTER THE SHEBITCH HAS A GO AT HIM WITH HER FIERCE COKE CAN THICK STRAP-ON!!!
.
.
She's the mother of his look a like daughter and the only one any of us would want to see.
Michelle should definitely accept it on behalf of Matilda. Matilda should have that award in her room for the rest of her life. That is a piece of her father, and she is the only person who should have that award. Michelle should bring Matilda on stage with her to accept it or if Michelle is not comfortable with bringing her daughter on stage, she should go up herself and accept it on Matilda's behalf. Heath's father is a douche.
It is just an award. No big deal who picks it up. Only important item should be who receives the cheques.
Who's our daddy? He is! We will revenge his death. You just wait.
HAHA
It should be his mother, or the director of the movie.
I think Metilda should just get it. She can go on stage get it and leave it would be really nice.
michelle should accept the award after all she's the one whos suppose to take home the award for lil matilda to keep.
Whose to say he'll win? And bring Matilda onstage? That is ridiculous and Michelle would never do it. I'm sure the studio wants her to accept it if he wins, but I doubt she'll even attend the ceremony. As for Heath's father, I think he loves attention. There is no other reason why he prolonged the burial/cremation stuff for nearly a month.
Matilda should get it. I hate that X fukin wife of his. That bitch left him when he needed her the most. Fuk her, whore! She's ugly
and she doesn't know what FOR BETTER OR FOR WORSE IS…
FUKIN BITCH.
UGH this so called family friend is beyond annoying, Michelle has every right to accept the award on Matilda's behalf!
Why in the world would someones ex accept something posthumously instead of his parents, even if his dad is a little shady. And for people who want Michelle to accept it for Matilda, I'm sure her grandparents could do that.
does Matilda not see her grandfather anymore? Why can't Grandpa and Matilda go on together? I think A. Matilda should have it, B. Michelle does not really have the place to accept it, and C. Matilda should still be getting to see her fathers family even if he is dead. Poor Heath. Rip.
It wouldn't be Michelle accepting it on behalf of Heath, she's accepting it for THEIR child….His fucking dad just wants to be in the spotlight..Why isn't he thinking about his grand-daughter instead of himself being in the spotlight at a "ritzy" event?
how about his dad and matilda? if michelle doesn't want her daughter exposed like that though it should just be his dad.
my ex is an alcoholic, and we broke up because of it, and share two kids…..
if he were to win an award at work, i don't think it would be appropriate at ALL for me to go. I would fully expect one of his parents to go get it for thier son, or one of his coworkers even.
No, she was not with him at the time, and i doubt VERY highly she will even want to go to the awards show. If his dad wants to accept it, let him it is his FATHER. he knew him all 28 years.
Michelle should get it until Matilda is old enough, and she should have it as a keepsake/a memory of her father.
No, I agree it should not be Michelle. They had broken up - its not appropriate. She broke up with him when he obviously wasn't in a good place… Whatever happened to sticking together and working it out ?? Like the "family friend" says - would you let your ex-wife do it on your behalf?? I think not. It should be one of Heath's family members or cast mates from Dark Knight.
I don't even think he was that good. If he didn't die, no one would be talking oscar or golden globe
why put michelle in that postiotion?? that would be so awkard. they werent even together when he died. someone in the movie or a producer should accept it on his bahalf
I don't understand why they all can't do it together. They all had special and unique relationships with Heath. I think they should all be there, and each should be given a moment to say a couple words on Heath's behalf. It wouldn't be the first time we saw fifty people onstage to accept an award.
((A 'friend' of the family chimed in, "Why would Michelle be involved? She had nothing to do with the movie. They weren't even together when he passed away. Would you have your ex-wife accept your award? And they weren't even married.))
umm… how about they have a baby together and for Matilda's sake Michelle should receive the award. Matilda could look back at it when she is older and feel good about her parents.
Re: stars101 –
what about jake, maggie and matilda since jake, maggie and heath were so close even though jake wasn't in the movie
Why are parents pushed aside in favor of Hollywood people? His parents loved him before anyone else did. Their grief is real. They should accept the award, unless he had a wife or if his child was old enough to accept. Michelle and Heath were broken up.
Who would think that Michelle Williams would even be willing to receive the award on behlf of Heath, the emotional tenor wouldbe beyond the grief she has already experienced. Whomever said that she was not even with him is a jackass; she was not with him because of drugs. Two individuals who have a child together are bound more than a director to an actor.
I think that his family should do it…Michelle has no claim to this movie and your right they weren't even married, though they do have Matilda..I just think it should be someone closer, such as a parent or relative..OR someone involved in the actual movie.
I don't get you guys, why should Michelle accept it? She's not part of his family, they had broken up a long time before he died. It should be a family member who accepts on behalf of him and his daughter. His Mum, Dad or Sister should be up there. It has nothing to do with Michelle.
Ok, Michelle and him were not together. She didn't leave him to hurt him, maybe she left him because she was sacrificing for the sake of her daughter. My son's father and I arent' together, simply because he's not good for us, and we are better off that way. She should accept it on behalf of THEIR daughter, though they were not together. Little Matilda has more rights to that award and maybe the last moments of honor to her father that anybody else on this earth, parents and all!
It should be his parents or siblings unless he was estranged from them when he died. Unless he had a grown child, which he did not. Matilda would be too young to understand. Michelle was never married to him and even if she was, would someone's ex wife pick up an award for that person? If it is that much of a problem, if he wins, and I hate win a dead person wins, (because alot of times it is the only time some of the other nominated people get nominated and the dead person can't appreciate it) why can't they just have the camera on the award and a picture of Heath and it is held by the studio, in a case until the daugther is of legal age. No words are necessary. the winner normally thanks everyone they worked with and their mother, so why would anyone have to go up and accept the award for a dead person?
It should be Michelle if Michelle wants to do it. They might have been broken up, but the reasons for that breakup have been well documented, and lack of love wasn't it. I saw some interviews Heath did shortly before he died, and he spoke her name like a woman he was still very much in love with. She gave him his beautiful daughter whom he treasured, and lastly, she was an actor whom he had great respect for. They had similar reasons for wanting to be actors and similar opinions on the nonsense that comes with it. As far as I see it, she's the only one to accept his awards. As far as his Dad, I'm not getting a good feeling about him. (Like why did he wait months and months to say that their family had given everything to Matilda?)
Why dosen't Heath's dad and Michelle do it together .. z__Z I mean, it is Heath's dad and all.
I'm sure Michelle will not allow her daughter anywhere near that kind of a circus. That would be ridiculous for a toddler to be present.
If he wins, the director should accept it to give to Matilda. Heath's parents need to stop milking his death for their own place in the spotlight.
Maybe I'm being insensitive, but I don't really think it should matter who accepts the award, as long as what they say is respectful and thoughtful and true to his memory…and not Christian Bale..he rubs me the wrong way.
what the fuck, why is everything on behalf of Matilda?
Bale should definitely accept the award. He was in 2 of Heath's last films, TDK & I'm Not There. They were very close and it would only make sense to have it do the honors (:
I think both Michelle and Matilda should walk to the stage to accept the award if Heath should win. I get the feeling that Heaths family is shady somehow.
Sorry but it should be Michelle or his daughter to accept it. Kim is just after the fame and money of Heath.
The dad should do it.
While Matilda accepting it would be a ratings hit, that's too much for a little girl. I What would be appropriate if there weren't the tragic story of her would be for the director to accept it, but what would mean the most to Matilda later would be if her mother accepts it. That father is an asshole and under no condition should he be the one.
I'm glad I don't have to make that decision. He was such a unique human being and performer. In the end, it was all jut to much for him. Quite a pity. On second thought, have Matilda and her Nanny accept. A good Nanny can present insights that reflect everyone's opinions not just one side or the other.
michelle would never get matilda on stage. leave this kind of circus to cruise family. so his father just as well might get it.
Of course Michelle matters. He married her. I'm sure they weren't on bad terms. He's the mother of his daughter. She played a big role in his life, and he a big part on hers. i can understand why they'd want her to do it.
Should be the director. It will be awkward with Heath's parents. I know they are his parents but they already accepted an award for Heath at the AFI awards and for me it will be awkward to see them all awards season long giving the same sad speeches for Heath. It's only drawing attentions to themselves. The director accepting would draw more attention to the work. And also if Heath's parents start accepting awards for him, imagine when it comes to the Oscars and if Heath doesn't win, it will be sooooo awkward.
Gemma Ward (Heath's REAL girlfriend after Michelle) and Trevor DiCarlo (Heath's best friend) should accept the award on behalf of Heath's family and Matilda.
Neither Michelle nor the father had anything to do with the movie. It would be good if both Michelle as well as Heath's father received the award if Heath does win of course.
OMG… it seems like the best thing Michelle ever did was have this mans kid lest she fade away into total obscurity. I don't think she should accept shit on Heaths behalf. Let it be his father or someone that was actually part of the movie. They were broken up for a year or more when he died… seriously… hate to be a hater but I dont want to see her.
Re: SheriMoonZombie – You really are a complete moron! Michelle was NEVER his WIFE… so get your facts straight before you say anything loser. I always hate your stupid comments.
I think the parents should be the one to recieve it that is there son dispite everything. They lost there son and should do the honor. I am sure they see there grand daughter and when she is old enough they can pass it down to her. If it were your son would you like to accept it for him ask yourself?
Does it really matter? Could they not have more than one person accept it if they're fighting over who should?
I don't think Michelle Williams should accept the award on his behalf! That's just ridiculous, they weren't even together at the time.
Heath's father, Chris Nolan or Christian Bale are all better people to accept the award for him. I agree, put them in a hat and draw from those 3 men. NOT Michelle!
I think Michelle should be the one receiving the award with their daughter Matilda. I think that would be the appropriate & rightful thing to do!
OKay really, this "friend" is going there? First of all, the comment that she didn't have anything to do with the movie…..does that mean that every partner/spouse of every actor, that ever lived, should be cast aside if they were not physically a part o of the film? That has to be one of the stupidest comments I have ever seen.
Then again, his family seems a bit shady.
Wasn't Michelle still with him when he MADE the movie? Who knows what rumors are true, but I heard one go around that it was his dedication to the role that made them seperate….and that was supposedly going to be temporary. Regardless of what the truth of the state of their relationship is, Michelle is the MOTHER of his ONLY child. She absolutely has every right to be there as their child is too young to accept it.
And if the Ledgers really are going to be juvenile about it, why not have BOTH Michelle and Kim accept it on Heath and Matilda's behalves?
Why in the world would Matilda accept it… she is just a child. Exposing her to the world like that is just wrong.
I think there is no reason why Kim Ledger shouldnt accept it on Heaths behalf. Father and son share an inextricable bond. Granted, Michelle is the mother of their child but obviously their bond was somewhat damaged and I think its only fair his father do it.
If you guys think that just by having a child that gives a woman the right to forever represent the man they had it with, even AFTER splitting up etc, then you have no problem with the woman in Perth who Heath allegedly had a child with when he was 17 to also go up to receive the award on behalf of their daughter, who is 11 years old now.
