American Idol Making Some More Changes
Attempting to reverse its ratings decline, American Idol is making a few minor adjustments this coming season.
Though the changes will be officially announced later today or this week, they've already been leaked via an AI fansite which somehow got a hold of a production memo.
Without changing too much of the show's format - which initially earned it top ratings - AI will be making a minor shift toward "real talent."
- There will be fewer audition rounds (and thusly, less of Simon's sarcasm) and more Hollywood episodes, to shift the emphasize on "aspirational" singers, rather than attention-hungry whores or those inflicted with "I think I can sing" syndrome.
- The semifinalist round will be expanded to 36 contestants instead of the usual 24.
- Return of the second chance "wild card" round.
- Idol Gives Back has been canceled for next year, but will return in the 9th season as an every-other-year event.
We'll have to wait and see if the tweaking helps or hinders AI!

I saw the footage of Simon and the girl that committed suicide in front of Paula's house. He was terribly cruel about her physical appearance-even goofing on her about the braces on her teeth. I think it's way overdue for Simon to be told to knock it down a peg, and tone down the schoolyard bully crap.

New Breaking News: ON the Caylee Anthony story. The cops have found more bones and evidence that was leading to the bag, like animals drug the bones out of the garbage bag. The grandparents didn't bother having their weekly memorial for her. They won't speak one word to anyone now. That really shows that they are involved or they would be crying and expressing their thoughts like they did before. I hate that family.

The idols give back show is the only thing that saves the show from being the worst thing on television. They have just become the worst thing on television.
They took out my favorite parts of the show - watching morons audition and Idol gives back were the reasons I'd watch it. I've never thought anyone who made it to the end was that incredibly talented. They were okay, just not my style.
Yawn! I actually like the early part of each season with all the dilludanoids who come on and make asses of themselves. The audition episodes are the only decent part of "American Idol." The ret of the season is boring and a giant lame popularity contest. At least here in Omaha we can brag that David Cook auditioned here!
