Fall Out Boy's Awkward Singalong

Fall Out Boy arrived at Washington Square Park in New York City on Monday to film an impromptu jam session - aka a publicity stunt for their new album.
Unfortunately, they didn't appear to have the appropriate paperwork and were forbidden from playing any instruments, one parkgoer there tells us.
So, lead singer Patrick Stump decided to lead a small crowd along in an acapella rendition of one of their songs.
Bassist Pete Wentz looked so uncomfortable, as if something was seriously bothering him.

Patrick sounded good in that clip, which is rubbish, 'cos when I see them Live in London last year, that weren't all that.

LOVE FALL OUT BOY! This video actually made me love them even more, which I didn't know could be possible. Patrick is absolutely amazing! I literally am disgusted by all of you bandwagon haters who think that making fun of a band is somehow going to make you cool!
He can't sing, that's why, I work at a popular music venue & when he had to sing his background part (the "doo doo doo doo doo doo"s on this ain't a scene, it's an arms race) he stopped singing & got that awkward/embarrassed smile on his face like he does there. I don't think it's because he thinks he's too good for the band, he just was afraid to show his weakness in a situation in which it would be super obvious…
were any of you actually there? I highly doubt that. The clip does no justice to how awesome it sounded live. They tried to make it a secret so that true fans would come out and support — but they got busted and could only do one song. If they played instruments or did anything more, they would have been arrested by NYPD. Patrick's voice was killer, right on point and everything. Pete was not uncomfortable — he was just bummed that they couldn't stay longer, and he was trying to talk to and appease the dudes in the back, AKA those who are in charge of Washington Square Park. Besides, he was smiling the entire time because everyone was singing along and having a good time regardless of the brevity of the moment. do some research before you judge, guys. it'll do you some good.

I was there and it was very cool! They could not have the FREE acoustic concert they planned bc they would get arrested. It was really awesome!

if you look you can see that the drummer and guitarist aren't singing along either. It makes no sense for them to sing as they aren't the lead vocalist of the band. It's really low that everyone is giving fall out boy so much crap for trying to do something nice for their fans that most other bands wouldn't do. Even if you don't like Fall Out Boy musically, they should at least be acknowledged for how much they give back to their fans.

I doubt that Pete Wentz actually has any singing ability, despite being the "face" of "Fall Out Boy". It's the chubby guy who sings lead vocals and is the "voice" of the band. He actually has a great voice.
Pete probably just lip-synchs along in their performances and does not want to expose himself in this acapella session.
