This isn't even news here in the UK, not sure where your info's come from!

  13. 13

This can't be good!!! Viral warfare is a bitch.

  14. 14

this happened at the same time last year…. wtf

  15. 15

oh please, your source is the daily express, talk about blowing things out of proportion. i had this a few months ago, it lasts like a week, you dont die, its just a bug.

  16. 16

  17. 17

    Wow this sounded like a movie…. Sucks…

  18. 18

Re: THE BIGGEST BOSS OF THEM ALL – Hey boss, your in a chipper mood today….

it's just the flu, it's the same virus we had a couple of years ago.
perez you are such a drama queen.
this is a 24 hour flu bug, most people who had it, managed to recover 24 hours later.
stop spreading lies about our country you fucking asshole.

  20. 20

Im in the UK and havent heard anything about this yet!

  21. 21

with all the crap they eat over there, it could be anything! Or maybe the water! Or the booze!

  22. 22

My nan had it and she was REALLY ill but is ok now. I think everyone here knows someone who has had it it seems. :(

  23. 23

Well, it is flu & cold season once again.
Make sure if you get sick that you get plenty of rest and drink liquids (other than booze which dehydrates your system further). Proper handwashing is also important to prevent spreading the disease. Some remedies other people have suggested for vomiting and diarrhea are those activated charcoal tablets and an electrolyte-replacing drink (like Gatorade). And for the non-vegetarians can't go wrong with chicken soup. It has liquids, salt and protein.

  24. 24

It's just the Norovirus. It's been and gone for years! It's not deadly, and it doesnt need to be treated except with fluids due to dehydration.

Christ Perez, stop taking the Daily Express as fact. It's like the UK's version of the National Enquirer!

  25. 25

Oh puh-leeze… "gripping" the UK? Really? Then why is no one where I live sick with this? It is winter when more people get the flu… that is true for most places including the US. Some "news" outlets just like to scream that the sky is falling to get readers.

  26. abbyq says – reply to this

This isn't as "crazy" as Perez thinks! Thousands if not millions of U.S. residents get this every year as well, and it's from touching fecal matter and then digesting it!

Just wash your hands thoroughly and never eat poop and you should be fine! Plus, all these people rushing to the hospitals, the hospitals are not going to be able to stop it, you just need to stay home, isolated so you're not spreading it everywhere!!

  27. 27

    it's fucked up

  28. 28

Oh and btw… I bet most of the people who have made comments about British food have never been to Britain. Try to be original, folks. Jumping on a stereotype makes you lame… you know, like Perez.

  29. 29

As rolalola said, this isn't even news in the UK. It's not as bad as it makes out. The effing Daily Express… [rolls eyes] over exaggerating as usual. If you are Elderly or a Child, then yes it's serious. But other than that it's just the flu.
They said last year that it reached 'epidemic' but I didn't know one person who had caught it, or has known a person who has caught it… Plus… London hospitals are balls. :)

  30. 30

    perez its called gastroenteritis…
    i have had it…just a 24 - 48 hour bug…nothing major!

its not just uk that has been hit with it…most of europe have it too and were gonna spread it over to the US of A looool

  31. 31

I really wouldn't believe anything the Daily Express has to say. Doom mongers.

  32. 32

Re: LaDiva is unleashed… – I finally found the bike my Son wanted for Christmas….He told me he doesn't want ANYTHING EXCEPT this bike….FINALLY I found it….it's a great day except for this crappy weather

  33. 33

    Re: Queen_B!tch
    it's Norovirus

  34. 34

Uh, you know we get the stomach flu over here also, fatass.

  35. 35

Maybe it was the pork *shudders*

  36. 36

Vomit, vomit everywhere…. that would make me vomit too!

  37. chodi says – reply to this

guess the spotted dick was the cause

  38. 38

NOT PANIC! They all just heard the new BRITTANY SPEARS record!

  39. 39

they better not bring that over here!!

  40. 40

    Wash your hands people!

  41. 41

Shut up perez, we get this every year. It's called "winter vomiting sickness" and it only lasts 48 hours. It ain't pretty but it won't kill you. Don't make it sound like we've all got the plague.

  42. 42

Oh Jesus Christ. You see, you post. You don't bother doing any checking and you don't bother finding out that the Daily Express is produced by right-wingers pushing a dangerous and irresponsible agenda. If you looked on any of the respectable British news sources – the BBC, the Guardian, the Times, even the Telegraph – you’d see that there’s no mention at all of this.
It’s posting things like this that will always keep you at least one step away from being anything resembling credible.

  43. 43

WTF??? I'm in the UK and this is news to me!!

  44. 44

I dunno guys… sounds like Voldemort's back to me!! *GASP*

  45. 45

yeah… oh my god its like so fucking crazy over here…
it's noro-virus, a winter vomiting bug, hospitals are having problems with it, yeah it's a bit shiteous but nothing major… geeez the way perez makes it out here it seems like its some sort of chaotic epidemic.

  46. 3l$@ says – reply to this

its the virus shyt no one touches me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  47. 47

  48. 48

and what kind of virus is it? what are the symptoms? where in the UK??? Just London or all over??? if you are going to inform about something that important then care to develop on the story instead of giving a shitty link…

  49. 49

You're such an ass. Fucking alarmist asshole.

  50. 50

do they have bite marks on their necks????

  51. 51

    Re: Uker – ITS VAMPIRES!!!

  52. 52

    Re: Juicy Lucy

moron? i work for a big hospital in london and i think i know what the virus is called…

why dont you google it and look at the symptoms, yes it is very alike norovirus but its not

  53. 53

    Re: Queen_B!tch

sorry i didnt get to finish my post…as i was saying its like the norovirus but its not EXACTLY the norovirus…some people may have got the norovirus, but gastroenteritis is a stronger virus but it is all from the same family of virus

  54. 54

I live in the U.K and i aint even heard ote about it, plus my sister is a nurse and she hasn't even heard about it.

  55. AMO says – reply to this

    Oh bloody hell!

  56. 56

its only abit of winter vomiting
    i get it every year
    calm down people

pus hospitals always get busy around xmas

  57. 57

I'm in the UK and know all about it - 2 kids currently suffering from it, one just gone back to school after having it last week..but it is fairly normal for this time of year and it is only a 24 hour thing - nothing dramatic!!

  58. 58

  59. 59

Nobody I know has had it and I live in London.
This is the first I heard of it.

  60. 60

    its disgusting,

my family and i up the whole night……. the norovirus is horrible

  61. 61

I used this as an excuse not to attend my college classes lol.

  62. 62

err ok i had it for 2 days and i'm not dead! it's only the flipping flu

  63. MP says – reply to this

This is dangerous. If you want to lessen your chances of getting sick, get some hand sanitizer and use if often. And don't touch your face, that's how the germ is introduced into your body.

  64. 64

Re: rolalola – thats probably because all your news people are zombies now

  65. 65

Perez!!! how silly, you must see how the Daily Mail borrows your material to make stories, they are a joke of a paper like the Daily Express so it surprises me that you believe the exaggerations about this, its bad flu that could cause problems to those who have weak immune systems ie the very old and the very young just like extremely cold or hot weather .Slow news day i guess!!! yet another reason to stop reading this website!

  66. 66

This is so Dumb, Im english, a few people have the flu thats all,
You make us sound like Zombies or something!
    Stop creating moral panic

  67. 67

I hope they find out what caused it! And it does not spread to others outside BK!

  68. 68

    omg, zombies!

  69. colo says – reply to this

    binge drinking zombies?

  70. 70

Don't beleive everything you read in the tabloids. I'm from the UK, but live in the US. It's the same story every year. Our papers are well known for blowing things out of proportion.

  71. 71

If you read the article correctly, it was a problem last year as well. Therefore, it is not new.

  72. 72

    Get well soon then.

  73. tetzy says – reply to this

Just a matter of time - with gene manipulation now a more and more common thing, how long until the US Army mutates a flu bug to attack people possessing dark (ie: middle-eastern) skin tones?
    Conspiracy theories 'R' us.

  74. 74

And we care why? that's kinda gross perez…

  75. 75

half the office and my sisters school are bed-bound, it stinks
