Legendary Actor Peter Falk Is Losing His Mind

The daughter of legendary actor Peter Falk is saying that her father is suffering from Alzheimer's disease and dementia, and can no longer care for himself.
Catherine Falk has filed for legal conservatorship of her father with the LA Superior Court, believing that "full-time custodial care for his health and safety" will help protect the actor best known for his role in Columbo from "fraud or undue influence" since he "can easily be deceived into transferring away property."
So sad.
Here's hoping that his daughter will do her best to make the rest of his days as comfortable as possible.

Anyhow, Peter Falk totally rocks, and I hope he's surrounded by decent people who have his best interests at heart.

That's absolutely tragic. It's the only disease that makes you unfamiliar to those affected. I pray for him and his family.

Also, you are talking about his last days of life?? gosh google about the disease sounds like you know 0 about it ppl suffering from that are not in a death row, they can still live they need to take the appropriate meds and have the care they need, that's what makes the disease even more sad cause this ppl have to live a life without recognizing the people around, feeling afraid and scared of their surroundings, it's a sad sad disease…

This is VERY sad. Peter Falk is a nice, GREAT man. Catherine, his adopted "daughter," however, is a pathetic, greedy, self-entitled whack job - always has been. The girl, 37y, has filed more lawsuits in her time than most people are ever remotely involved in, including suing her own father in her late teens to get him to pay for private college tuition, after she screwed up, had failing grades and nearly got kicked out. She actually won, bc in her parents divorce agreement -when she was LITTLE, it said he would pay for college. Yeah, well, that was under normal circumstances that she actually do her part and go to school and get decent grades. Can you imagine as a father not being allowed to threaten not to pay if your spoiled brat child doesn't go to class, ever study or get close to graduating, rather you have to give HER tons of $$?! They've been totally estranged since, of no fault of Peter. The fact that she is now suing to protect the estate is so shady and suspect. Surely, his LONG-TIME, loving and supportive WIFE would be the best person to do this, if she thought he were being taken advantage of. But, Catherine has always been a money grubbing spoiled jerk, and she wants her take and will take advantage of a tragic situation to get her undue. Trust.
That's really sad to hear. I've always loved Peter Falk. I grew up watching Columbo, and still enjoy watching his old dvd's. I'm glad to hear his daughter is taking care of him and protecting his money!!!! Good luck to him.

Re: Dana1963 – I know - it is just plain awful. He disowned Catherine a long time ago and even had to take a restraining order out against her, because she's an insane witch. She broke onto the set of the Columbo reunion show set, and it was havoc. She's tried to desparage him in any interview she's granted, but she comes off as a total lune, which she is, so no one gives her the time of day or any credence. The real story will come out. She has SEVERE psychological issues and is terribly unstable (and totally unlikeable). B*tch is MENTAL and has been a thorn in his side forever. Poor guy really tried, too.
Fucking heartless. I lost my grandmother to altzheimers YESTERDAY. Show some fucking respect. "Losing his mind?" NO dying from a horrible disease you sick fuck.

Truly sad. I loved him as the grandfather in "The Princess Bride," one of the most touching performances I've ever seen.
Re: DoctorPS – It's awful how family seem to come out of the woodwork at times like this. I take care of people with Alzheimer's. They sometimes have no visitors for years and we (the caregivers) are all they have. When they finally pass away…suddenly the family descends like vultures. Picking the bones clean. Too sad.
