"The Make A Child Smile Organization, also known as MACS, has been a source of support to children with chronic or life-threatening illnesses and their families. Emotional support is provided by creating the opportunity for people to visit the MACS website and learn about the children and their illnesses.
Each month, new children are featured. A picture and biography describing the child and information about their family is published on the website. Hundreds of 'net surfers, schools, service organizations, girls/boys scouts and church groups use the MACS website as a philanthropic project where they can send cards, letters and small gifts to the featured children and their siblings through postal mail."

MACS is awesome!!!!! MY very critically ill daughter received cards and stickers and all sorts of fun stuff in the mail from that site. It truly made her day brighter. All they ask is that you send some mail to a sick child, easy! The kids have something to look forward to each day, which keeps them going.

You guys should be ashamed of yourself. This little girls name is Eme and she is fighting for her life as you guys sit here and make fun of her dirty cake face. This was one of the last times she was able to sit up and eat cake. Take the time to click on the site and read her story, I have been following it for some time. She has had multiple organ tranplants and is only 3 years old.
Ok, cute baby and good causse. But I just have to say this……..Why the hell didn't someone wipe her mouth before taking the pic?? Jeez
Re: yup – Re: fam1130 – Props to both of you both the truth behind the story. I must admit I even blanched slightly with the "cake face" and I have a 6 mth old son - I see that face every day. But to know that it's Eme's first time eating cake warms your heart instead of turning your stomach.
PEREZ - it wouldn't hurt to add a little personal detail about these causes, like for example a tagline about the child in the picture with some of the details fam1190 provided would make these posts SO much more effective.
