Akon Given Easy Sentence

As we mentioned earlier this month, Akon's court date with a Fishkill Town Justice Court had been postponed ’til today.
The singer's assault trial came as a result of a June 2007 concert, when Akon threw a 15-year-old fan from the stage.
This morning, Akon pleaded guilty to second-degree harassment.
Akon paid a $250 fee and was also sentenced to 65 hours of community service.
Talk about getting off easy!

Blessed is he. He should reconcider the things he does and I'm guessing he's under the influence when these things happen or at least I'm hoping he is because you've got to be dumb to do those types of things sober, but, being under the influence isnt an excuse either he needs to get it together and think, thing Akon.

FISHKILL — In a matter of minutes this morning in Fishkill Town Justice Court, the controversial singer Akon pleaded guilty to second-degree harassment, a violation, apologized to a fan for tossing him off a stage at Dutchess Stadium and was confronted by the fan's father, all in connection with the June 2007 KFEST concert.
Akon was sentenced to a maximum $250 fine, which carried a mandatory New York State surchage, $100; and 65 hours of anti-gang and anti-violence community service.
The plea deal, sentence and Akon's apology to Anthony C. Smith ended a year of court appearances for Akon, who this morning sat in the fifth row of seats along with other defendants and the public in the courtroom, four rows behind Smith and his parents, Patricia and William Smith. Akon has until June 2009 to complete his community service.
After the successful singer entered his plea, Smith and his parents lingered in the lobby while Akon and his attorney filled out paperwork, while accompanied by a bodyguard and an unidentified woman. Smith's parents had left the lobby and he was passing through a door to leave when he turned around, walked up to Akon, shook the singer's hand and said, "Thanks a lot."
Akon apologized several times to Smith, but was interrupted by the victim's father, who said, "You threw my son off the stage."
Smiling, Akon said, "We never had a chance to talk," to the teenager he threw off a stage in front of thousands in June 2007.
