On Monday Pope Benedict equated protecting the rain forest from man to protecting man from gays.
Oh, yes he did!
In an address to the Curia, the Pope said, "(The Church) should also protect man from the destruction of himself. A sort of ecology of man is needed. The tropical forests do deserve our protection. But man, as a creature, does not deserve any less" describing anything outside of a traditional hetero relationship as "a destruction of God's work."
Inhaling too much incense? Dumb? Or just plain evil?
Sounds like something that, you know, the other guy in the Bible might have said.

Most of the nuns & lay teachers, a load of mean spirited dried up old cunts that alternated between hating us for being young, pretty & rich or tried DESPERATELY to live vicariously through our times at home. One Sister actually MADE us recount our vacations, boys, dancing with ALL the gory details. I'm convinced she was rocking on her Bah Wah balls all the time! Alllright, my personal opinion of the pope is that the position of the pope is probably the most misleading and egotistical of almost any church. No man can judge my sins nor make decisions for a whole congregation telling then whats right and wrong. God does not talk directly to any appointed person.
But that being said, in the catholic church, that is their belief system that makes them feel secure and connected to God. I might disagree but I would never be childish enough to draw horns on his picture or compare him to hitler.
Also, the whole "gays make better parents than most heteros." Very ignorant to say. What is the ratio of gay parents to straight? Exactly, thousands to one. You know why? Because people can have children on their own, and yeah some are not wanted or born to young mothers with no choice and have to have it unprepared among other extenuating circumstances that can be harmful to kids.But Gays dont have that problem and they probably worked really hard to get that kid which is great. And if gays could have children just as easily as hetero people could,there would be the same amount of inept parenting. Gay couples arent born more maternal then woman,that doesnt acompany the "gay gene."Same with lesbians,they arent born more paternal. Discrediting all the stable and loving hetero parents to the substancially less homo parents is completely unfair. Im sorry to say it, but I dont think there is a better scenario for a kid to grow up in than a house with a loving, gender correct mother and father. The next best thing could be the homo sexual couple. Thats my take on it. Im sure there is case by case situations where a kid is more happy in a homosexual parented house than a straight. Im just saying the set-up for the best potiential happy child would be with its birth mother and father, but not every child could be that fortunate and its great that their are other hetero/homo adoptive parents that will do their best to give their version of that to them.

The church that you badmouth helped me through my pregnancy when my fiance left me. A lot of people shun a woman who has a child outside of marriage, but the church embraced me. It sounds like you had a bad experience, but there are many good people in the church that are willing to help. But if church still isn't your thing, I would suggest seeing a therapist.
