Whitney Port is going to bring something "unique" to the New York fashion scene?
Not likely.
But MTV is making a reality TV show of it anyway!
Not only is the least annoying Hills character set to star in her own spinoff, transplanted in New York City, but she's just unveiled her new clothing line, called Whitney Eve because "like, I wanted my name to be part of the line, and I didn’t want to let my job situation tell the story for me, but at the same time, I wanted to put my brand on it," she tells Nylon. "So I figured my first and middle name, if I did that, it would be personal enough without being so connected to what people think they know about me."
So deep!
How that makes sense to anyone else but Whitney is beyond us, but like, totally - whatever!
And when asked to defend "another celebrity clothing line," Whitney said, "Because in California, at least, everyone’s wearing the same thing. Everyone’s got this lifestyle where all you see is trends. And I thought if I could bring a California style that was more unique, and more based on a vintage aspect, then women would feel a little bit different."
We thought Whitney was supposed to be the smart one???
Looking at the line, she must have been thinking of the Posh school of "design."

I think that dress is really cute, I'd definitely and probably will buy it. Whitney is awesome and WAY better than any of the others, she's actually going places. And her designs are a hell of a lot more creative and better than Lauren's ugly ass tshirt dresses.
Ok I'm from California, Hollywood to be specific…..and there are MORE THAN ENOUGH places you can shop where you can find original things. You don't have to shop at the mall, there are plenty of places to get clothes. Whitney are you for real??

However, if Whitney is as knowledgable about fashion as the show claims…she would know that todays trends are actually vintage inspired..does she really think leggings, loose shirts, and aviator glasses are new ideas?! Mario is always bashing celebrity clothes lines, but he didn't hesitate to try and sell some overpriced crap made by slave labor to the public to make a quick buck and he's not even close to being a celebrity. Take a look in the mirror, if you can stand to look at that huge head and flabby body, before you bash someone else. Now you're trying to make a quck buck on some dumb book. The economy is bad, people have huge amounts of credit bills and are losing their jobs, yet he is trying to sell something they can read any day on the internet for free. Perez you are going to get yours. Companies are going to start pulling their advertisements from your site because people are getting sick of you and advertisers are not making any money from people visiting your site.

First off, let me say that was the most contradictory statement I've ever heard. First she says Cali style is trendy and everyone "wears the same thing." Then she goes on to say she started a line because she wanted to represent the "unique and vintage California style."
So they all dress the same and are trendy but simultaneously unique and vintage? Wow she's confused, I thought she might have had an iota of intelligence but clearly not…

You know what I would love to see, these girls from the Hills on a Project Runway. They would not last an episode. Sure they have ideas for some dresses, but honestly they are just copy cats of simple looks that Wet Seal and Forever 21 already have! If they want to prove them selves as designers then I want to see a line sewn by them and shown on a runway. Let's see that happen!!!
