Since the Pivert's departure, ticket sales have dropped nearly $160,000 from last week's sales, and playing to only 50% capacity.

Duh, he was the ticket draw. No matter how badly you want to call the dude a douche or whatever, he's still a great actor. And those bad ticket sales after his departure doesnt help his castmates who are trash talking him to death either.

I wonder if he's getting older and can't handle a habit anymore. This is pure speculation. However, I've luved Piven since PCU.
Maybe Piven doesn't give a flying f*ck about the "stage" because it is full of polesmokers who were rubbing his leg and trying to play just the tip w/ him
Now it makes sense why Piven's nose wouldn't stop bleeding during almost the entire third act of the final dress rehearsal for "Speed". I guess either the altitude of the theater is awfully "high"….or sushi doesn't mix well with powdered donuts!
His understudy is there now, but William Macy takes over the role next week and ticket sales are way up. The only thing that should go down is the (already) limited number of jobs that come JP's way. What producer is going to hire someone who pulls stunts like this jerk? His "theatre school" owning parents have certainly produced a disappointment with this dick wad.
