It takes the average smoker 6 to 10 times to successfully quit. I hope she gives it another shot soon and has better success. There seems to be a lot of defensive smokers on this board. Why do you smoke? With all the research that has been done, why? I'm not being sanctimonious, I just don't understand it (nor do I understand people who overeat). Smokers make up 20% of the population, cost their employer several thousand dollars extra to insure them because of health issues and incur several billion dollars worth of doctor bills as a whole. If you quit smoking, you could save $100,000 over your lifetime by not purchasing cigarettes. I'm sick of Hollywood glorifying smoking. Whether they like it or not, some people look up to them and want to emulate them. If you want to quit, give it a shot. We're fortunate that there are a lot of smoking cessation tools around.
