Ryan Gosling Singing!

Paging Jared Leto!

Click here to watch In The Room Where You Sleep, the first music video from Ryan Gosling's band, Dead Man's Bones.

Hmmm….

We like the fact that he plains the piano. The song is not shiteous, but his voice sounds distorted and it's distracting.

Ryan is trying a tad too hard it seems like to us.

What do U think????

    Very Depressing!!!

  2. 2

    1st

  3. 3

No acoustics. Bad song and bad music. The kids are nice though.

  4. 4

He doesn't sound bad. But I automatically don't like the song because there are children singing. There's nothing more annoying than the sound of children singing. Yuck.

  5. 5

    i kinda like it!
    i really appreciate his effort.

  6. 6

Perez, not for nothing, but he does sound better than YOU:)
    (sorry!)
yes -his mouth is too close to the microphone, and the volume is also too loud on the mike as well- but its hardly likely that he was playing for the Perez readers/ Internet-
he was having a genuine moment, out of good will, why not try it yourself some time - for the New year?
    merry Christmas:) xoxoxo

  7. 7

I like it…. but it could be cuz I like him-LOL

  8. 8

    I liked it.
    Kind of real!

  9. 9

    Back to cooking!
    Whew!

  10. 10

    i actually like it?

  11. 11

It sound pretty good i like

  12. 12

I like it its not that bad
better then Katy Perry Thinking of You

  13. 13

Sexy Ryan!! But the music………….. I say watch it on mute ;)

  14. 14

dude dont you guys remember he was on the MMC? and i remember him being a really good singer on there! lol…

  15. 15

awww.. gosling has been singing his whole life. you can actually find old clips of him singing with justin timberlake and others from the disney crew/mickey mouse club - whatevs.. and he had a demo about 2 yrs ago? ..? i forgets..something about driving in his car..dunno. youtube his stuff. hes deelish.

reminded me of 'the killers' though but still love him.

  16. 16

    Suckish.

  17. 17

It's refreshing. Not everyone needs to sound like Justin Timberlake or Chris Martin for Heaven's sake. I love Ryan even more now!

  18. 18

he's not horrible…but i'm pretty sure he sounded better in the Mickey Mouse Club

  19. 19

    wtf
    i kinda like it.
    kinda being the operative word.
i was veryy surprised and confused.
    hm

Not crazy about it but in my eyes Ryan can do no wrong.

  21. 21

    I love it!

    22

this was done already….the band is called Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds…lame actors trying to be in bands…….he should stick to just looking hot.

  23. 23

Way too heavy on Tom Waits influence. But much respect for trying to sound indie.

  24. 24

Hmm.. This is different. If you listen to his "older" songs, for example, Put Me In The Car, the vocals are pretty much bang on.

  25. 25

Hmm.. This is different. If you listen to his "older" songs, for example, Put Me In The Car, the vocals in that song are very strong and less .. forced?

  26. 26

actually, i think its pretty good. It's different. It sounds like a mix between The Killers and The Cure..idk, i like it

  27. 27

Very Creepy…..but I kind of like it.

  28. 28

Funny song, I like it…it kinda sounds and looks like a kids program and he's trying to be scary or something.

  29. 29

Song not shiteous — but your spelling is:)

  30. 30

I've always loved Ryan Gossling even in his Breaker High days. I think the music is awesome. Theres another song out there called Dead Mans Bones (yes like their band name) that is also pretty good.

  31. 31

Thank god the piano is louder than his singing.

  32. 32

The sound isn't the greatest but I think it's unique and his voice is good.

He's a weird guy so it's no surprise that his music would be a little different.

    Thumbs up from me.

  33. 33

I think it's very "Theatrical" and it sounds as if it's coming from a tomb. I think it's intended. It's part of the theme. Besides, what does "plaining" the piano mean? You sound like your head is up your unqualified crusted sticky and sweet asshole.

  34. 34

    gave me an erection

  35. 35

fucking amazing!!! i love it!!! who knew ryan gosling was so brilliant!! can't wait to hear more

  36. 36

It makes me sad to say this because I love Ryan… but that was TERRIBLE. The kids and his voice were creepy, the song sucked and the drums were too loud. The good thing about it… he looked hot with vest and beard playing the piano. It is a shame he took a break from acting to do this.

  37. 37

    I LIKE!!

  38. 38

    Wrong! positively shiteous.

  39. 39

I liked it, and the drummer was hot!

  40. 40

It kind of reminds me of a Beirut meets The Killers sort of thing, not bad.

  41. 41

I like the piano and that's about it. His voice doesn't sound right for the song and he could have found a way better children's choir.

  42. 42

Something sounds a bit off … but I did like it. Good job!

  43. 43

I'm sorry but that song bites! Turn down the suck Mr. Gosling…

  44. 44

zexy. copied from Interpol, who copied from Joy Division. a little dark… but he's a scorpio, right? they like that…

and the clothes… brandon flowers style!!

  45. 45

His voice sounds like Arcade Fire, music like a mix of Arcade Fire and Muse…

I like it.. Ryan is hot too!

  46. 46

His voice in this song, kinda reminds me of Jim Morrison.

    I kinda dig it.

  47. 47

If you didn't know this was Ryan Gosling and you heard this on the radio. I highly doubt anyone would listen. It's crap. People like it because it's Ryan, sad f**ks.

  48. 48

Sounds a lot like The Doors to me… I like. Such a big and deep voice for such a little person!

  49. 49

    I liked it….!!!!

  50. 50

the only thing that bothered me is that it didn't sound like they were playing together. I loved the concept

  51. 51

that was super cute, i love him more

  52. 52

Creepy good fun. I dig it.

  53. 53

It's not as bad as I was expecting. It is very Killersesqe. I think Ryan sounded better than the kid's choir.

  54. 54

    weird

  55. 55

LUV IT!!!!!!!!! I think its Hawt

  56. 56

its really mixey,i like the instruments and wrods 2 the song, his voice is weird but i liek it but i hate the nlil kids singing, props tho for not a shitty pop song

  57. 57

love it! hear that, those drums is real folks..

  58. 58

I really thought his voice was going to be higher. This sounds like a bad halloween song. He should stick to his dayjob.

    He's still hot though.

  59. 59

    i love him!! : (
He is so talented!!!!!!!!! it kills me!

    60

    I love him. : )

  61. 61

    that was dope…

  62. 62

I'd suck his dick until his skull caved in.

  63. 63

I usually hate songs with kids in the choir, but this song was pretty good. I would love to hear the studio version, and not the live version. Ryan has a good voice.

  64. 64

I agree with a previous poster — very "Nick Cave". That said, I like it. The acoustics weren't the best, but it looks authentic — unlike some I could mention (hello, katy perry?). That kid at the end was cute.

  65. 65

    awww i lovee ryann..hes awesomeeee=]

  66. 66

    loved it!

  67. 67

Re: starification – Jesus dude…please tell me that you have NO KIDS??? Seriously….NOTHING MORE ANNOYING than kids singing??? I could think I 6 million sounds MORE umpleasant than that. Douchebag!

  68. 68

    Love it!

  69. 69

Hey I really liked this! :)

    i like it!

  71. 71

The piano melody at the beginning sounds like Ingrid Michealson's Corner of Your Heart.

  72. allyk says – reply to this

    72

as shitty as 2 girls one cup

  73. 73

Its not overly bad but its very DIY sounding. Also, maybe not all the songs are like this one but it kind of made me think of a Patrick Wolf wannabe and a pretentious emo had a musically adept lovechild and set it loose on a kindergarten class?

  74. 74

i like it. the vocals remind me of joy division or the swans.

  75. 75

He sometimes goes to this karaoke bar I hang out at and I can say for sure that he has a great voice and is the nicest guy… and super hot in person (I've never been into him, but…)
He sang Sinatra one time and it was awesome. So yeah, he may be trying here, but isn't that what all musicians do? Try to create a certain sound? Just sayin'…

  76. 76

kind of sounds like he's trying to hard to channel The Doors and Joy Division, which isn't necessarily a bad thing I suppose. maybe if the acoustics were better and he lost the annoying kids, it would be more appealing?

  77. desmi says – reply to this

    77

I really liked the music and…the drummer!!! He's delish, isn't he? The kids were also cute and the song wasn't bad either! Of course, it would be better if I could understand what on earth he was singing about (OK English is not my mother tongue, but still)! Anyway! His voice was good but he shouldn't have his mouth so close to the mic! Maybe that's why I couldn't make out a thing!!!!! But don't worry, Ryan, keep up the good work and…practice…and maybe next time you'll show us sth even better and improved!!!!!

  78. 78

this sounds a bit too much like dracula the musical..

  79. 79

I actually really, really enjoyed it. The distortion/effects is really in keeping with the mood of the song. Me likes the slightly creepy things.

It's very Jim Morrison-esque. It sounds lovely, has a great feel.

Canada's pretty good at pumping out Jim Morrison wannabes. *cough*Jeff Martin of The Tea Party*cough*

  80. 80

So Ryan "plains the piano", huh? You're a fucking idiot Perez, pay someone to proofread if you're too stupid or lazy to do it yourself. Or better yet, type it right in the first place. Doucher.

p.s. gabbyamazing, you are so right-too funny!

  81. 81

He's not playing at Madison Square, Perez honey.
    .
It looks liek he was kind enough to do a fun Hallowe'en gig for soem kids. My guess is he is singing in a mock "Boris Karloff', like the Monster Mash vocal.
    .
The acoustics in that room are obviously cr@p, but he and those kids are obviously having a good, silly time.

  82. 82

    I kinda liked it

  83. 83

Dude I actually rather like it they should've shut up the little kid that was singing over everybody but other than that, it was cool. Yea his mouth was to close to the mic and the distortion was annoying but his voice is good so Fuck The Haterz!

  84. T & B says – reply to this

    84

haha, I actually liked it. (=

  85. 85

this song is 100% in keeping with the Canadian sound that has been dominant for the last 5 years or so. Not bad but high maintenance.

  86. 86

    wow…that sucked, and i dont get it….

    hes still hot though

  87. 87

meh, it's like he's trying to be a crooner, a la chris isaac or morrissey. and i love those guys… i actually kind of dig this, as much as i'd hate to admit it.

  88. 88

Ryan should maybe hire some professionals here. He's got a good sound but the choir and crappy recording has got to go. His voice reminds me of a little of old Joy Division.

  89. 89

To all you idiots who said this song is shit - If you stopped listening to crap like Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Britney Spears, you might gain a good taste in music. If you like any of these crap artists I mentioned, try listening to good stuff like PSAPP, Ladyhawke, Thao and the Get Down Stay Down, Ladytron and Little Jackie (really just the song "The World Should Revolve Around Me"). Dead Man's Bones is awesome and I'm glad I've been introduced. They'll definitely be added to my lookout list.

  90. 90

Its a clash of noises. yuck.
and no offence to the kids but… wtf? could have chosen kids who can sing.

  91. 91

last time I checked Nick Cave was still alive. who's this impersonator?
looks like 20s is the new early teens.. that time of your life when you constipate to be 'authentic' and different you know.

  92. 92

    No.

  93. 93

The sound was bad but if he was in a better place with some better equipment that would help. I like it better thatn most of the crap they play on the award shows. I love that one girl in front who's rockin out.

  94. 94

    good song.
but some one seriously punch that kid in the back ground.
the first row, second last one on the right.
    quickly please.

  95. 95

He doesn't sound that bad Perez.
It's not a super good performance but you could tell he has a good singing voice.

I don't like the fact that he has the kids singing in the background either. Nothing against kids but I just don't like it unless their making a children's cd or something.

A matter of fact I can't stand kids or old people in music video's. Especially old folk … it's not amusing or funny … it's disrespectful! But that's another topic.

    Anyway. LOL

  96. 96

Jared's better, in my opinion! This song seems like it's about 40 years too late. It should've been on the radio during Halloween night in 1968.

  97. LEAH. says – reply to this

    97

I LIKED IT! Except for the DRUMMER. Coming from a drummer, trust me. That guy SUCKED. I really liked his voice though. NICE.

  98. 98

Perez has THE worst taste in music, so of course he wouldn't like this.

  99. 99

Perez I love how you don't like people who can actually sing but you love overproduced, mechanical, robotic pop songs.

  100. 100

i don't care how bad it is … ryan is sexy
