Mamma Mia! Outsells Dark Knight with DVDs

As we mentioned last week, The Dark Knight was ruling the DVD holiday sales.
Reports were even suggesting that the flick would soon become the best selling 2008 movie.
However, it's been outdone….by Mamma Mia!
The musical has just become the top-selling DVD in the United States, as of Wednesday.
As for The Dark Knight, that remains the top-selling video release of the year with worldwide estimates of 13.5 million sold.
Though it's a close call on the Blue-ray Disc selling list with The Dark Knight coming in at number one and Mamma Mia! at number three.
Surprisingly The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor debuted on Blu-ray at number two.

Great music but…the movie was kinda forgettable except for Streep. Dominic Cooper wasted in his role, Brosnan can't sing, etc.

Why wouldn't it? Who wants to see 2 hours of ignorant nonsense and mayhem? (Dark Knight) I love Ms. Streep she proves the point that Talent and Looks are NOT required for success. That no matter how homely you are the chance or Great Success may come your way.

i got this movie for christmas…. i did not like it at all ( i rented it when it first came out)… i will be returning it for dark knight!

MM is great fun. Merly Streep's performance of The Winner Takes it All and Slipping Through My Fingers was heart breaking.
DK was good, too. The movie kept you (well, at least me) with it through out and Heath Ledger's performance was eerily fab.
Both deserve a top 5 placing.

I just don't get it. That movie was such a piece of crap. It was embarrassing to watch. I was embarrassed for the actors. My skin is crawling even thinking about it.
2 reasons for this:
#1 - no one saw mama mia in theaters
#2 - dark knight is SO popular it's being re-released in theaters in january 2009 so there's no reason to buy it on dvd yet.
