#1 GROSSING TOUR IN HISTORY FOR SOLO ARTIST

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — With the completion of Madonna’s final show in Sao Paulo, Brazil last evening — one of eleven record-breaking performances in South America — the ‘Material Girl’s’ ‘Sticky & Sweet’ Tour reigns supreme by becoming the Number One Largest Grossing Tour in history by a solo artist, it was confirmed today by Live Nation, the tour’s international producer. Her 58 shows in Europe, the US, Canada, Mexico and South America played for a staggering 2,350,282 fans and sold over $280,000,000 in tickets

“Madonna has yet again demonstrated her true global appeal as a live performer whether in stadiums or arenas. Not only will this tour be the top selling tour of all time for a solo artist and a female artist (eclipsing her own record), but it will position her as one of the top selling touring artists of all time,” said

Arthur Fogel, Live Nation’s Chairman of Global Music and CEO of Global Touring

Along with record breaking ticket sales in South America with a total 650,000 tickets sold, the ‘Sticky & Sweet’ Tour sold 72,000 tickets at Zurich’s Military Airfield Dubendorf — the largest audience ever assembled for a show in Switzerland. In London, where she performed in front of 74,000 fans with over 12 million dollars in ticket sales, Madonna surpassed all previous records at both the old and new Wembley Stadiums. In New York City, Madonna’s four sell-outs at Madison Square Garden shows added up to a record breaking 23 sold out performances since 2001 at that venue — a record for most appearances for a single artist in this decade.

Madonna’s multi Grammy-nominated CD “Hard Candy” debuted at number one early this year in over 37 countries.

    YAAA for low gas prices!

  7. 7

Re: Maternal – i repeat….hoff has some impressive globalstats…….bfd…what's your point?……..millions of people across the world have shitty taste in music??

  8. 8

Actually gas prices hitting a5 year low isn't a good thing. It might be a relief to us but it doesn't mean the economy is doing any better.

  9. 9

Re: Maternal – Do you like anal?

  10. 10

    Low is good….

  11. 11

thats great and all but there going to go right back up

  12. 12

Re: Big Black Dick – We all know that you do.heheheheheheheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Gas prices are low coz there is not economy…..bush stole it…heheheheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  13. 13

so-so news. good news is we no longer are dependent on dirty crude oil. that will be the day we can tell the middle east to fuck off.

  14. 14

oh my goodness.. this is bad!!!!! because that means we are going to head to deflation.. which is ten times worse than inflation.

  15. 15

    No good news, all
    bad news.
    Gaza is fighting
    with Israel and
    the end is on
    its way..nice newyear

  16. 16

Thank God for President Bush!! Oh wait, he doesn't control them going down. But wait…..he got blamed for them going up……
I am so confused. Who do we blame???????

  17. Edna says – reply to this

    17

Obama did it. He got elected and snapped his bony little fingers.

  18. 18

Gas prices being this low is a bad thing, not a good thing. The economy is awful, and no one has jobs and therefore cannot afford gas. Low demand = low prices.

  19. 19

    Re: UGLY=PEREZ
actually you get most of your oil from canada
    you just refine it there

  20. 20

Actually it's not good news. Why not have a cap on gas prices that when demand dips below it, send the taxes to clean energies.
Just as the tobacco companies have to pay for anti smoking ads.

  21. 21

Let's try to remember this is happening under Bush not Obama.-

  22. 22

what perez not reporting something doom and gloom, a holiday miracle

  23. 23

    Re: x0haveH0PE
    i agree with u!
if people do not have jobs, then how will they be able to afford a car? prices for other necessities are going up though! i think we're goin to fall into depression! hopefully not!!! but u never know!

  24. 24

yeah, they are for sure going to go right back up in a matter of weeks…soooo go on a roadtrip now! :) oh, and i think we should keep things positive on here. lets not talk about the world's potential demise and shiiiittt…thats just depressing. i prefer other sites for worldly news and theories… i log on PH for a few laughs, ya know?

    that means you too, perez!!!

  25. MP says – reply to this

    25

It's good news but OPEC will turn around and cut supply, therefore raising the prices again. Enjoy the low prices while they last.

  26. 26

Yes it is great, but our country will be so much better when we become totally independent and can tell the oil countries to shove it up there ass!

  27. 27

Yeah, but next summer they're going back up as much as they were this summer.

  28. 28

Analysts say that we won't see $4 a gal gas for a LONG time. And if we do, it will be a temporary spike. We should be back up around $2.25 a gal by summer. That's where it "should" be. Geez Perez, don't you ever watch the news or read?

  29. 29

If gas prices are so low, then why are we still being hit with fuel surcharges by US airlines and delivery businesses?

  30. 30

    Thank god!

  31. 31

Sounds like deflation to me… which is not good news at all!!!!!!!!!
