Man Shot At Brad's Film
We guess some people take going to the movies very seriously.
On Christmas day, crazy ass James Joseph Cialella Jr. of South Philadelphia went to watch a showing of Brad Pitt's The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
During the movie a father and his son kept talking, which angered Cialella, understandably so. It angered him so much, though, that he decided to take out a .380-caliber gun and shoot the father!!!
WTF?????
Police were called to the movie theatre at 9:30pm on Christmas night. The victim told authorities that a man sitting next to him and his family told them to be quiet and even threw popcorn at his son. And after a heated exchange between the two men, Cialella allegedly got out of his seat to confront the family.
The victim then stood up to protect his son and that's when he got shot once in the arm. Moviegoers quickly ran out of the theatre but Cialella sat down to watch the rest of the movie.

Police arrived a short time later, arrested the 29 year-old Cialella and took his gun. Cialella is being charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, and weapons violations.
Police spokesman Lt. Frank Vanore said, "It's truly frightening when you see something like this evolve into such violence."
Was it worth it???? We sure hope he enjoyed the movie!
Thankfully, no one was critically hurt.

I do think that people are very disrespectful in movie theaters. People talk on their cell phones, and are extremely rude. And of course movie theaters don't enforce their rules about being quiet. Maybe if the ushers would go around and kick people out for being loud or talking on their cell phones, this sort of thing wouldn't happen. This guy was prob on edge because it was Christmas. But come on, he could have easily complained to management and gotten a ticket to another showing or a refund. As Perez would say, violence is never the answer ya'll.

I can't say I've never felt that way in a theatre. It's why I never go anymore. Managers rarely throw anyone out because they won't stop talking. This is exactly like in Scary Movie.

When I read this in the Philadelphia Inquire I thought that Perez would mention it. I only go to that theater for matinee shows. Even then I once had my car window smashed and gps stolen from the glove compartment. It is a pretty frightful place. Most people talk on their cell phones at this place. Being a skinny white guy it is really hard to say a thing. I am sure that they deserved it! What most surprises me about this story is that this guy went to see Benjamin Button. This is way to sophisticated of a movie for him. He looks has dumb has an ox.

I used to frequent that theatre as well. Never once had a bad experience. Probably just an isolated incident.
I know how it feels to have people acting like JERKS behind you and the frustration you feel when they RUIN a movie for you. On Christmas, my family went to see BButton and there were a ton of preteens behind us TALKING, laughing inappropriately and in general, not able to hold still. It's been many months since I saw a movie because I cannot take the rudeness of an audience spoiling my night out but I would never resort to violence. I have had angry words with parents and kids about their lack of manners but never could imagine shooting someone in a theatre because of noise. This guy is sick in the head

This is why I avoid watching a new movie during the first or second week of its release. And I never go to the movies on the weekend after Christmas or New Year's. People are already rude in theaters on a normal day, but are also stressed out from holiday family bullshit.

I have declined going to movie theather about 30 percent, comparing to what I used to go 5 or 5 years ago due to RUDE people at those places (cell phones, pop corns eaters, loud talkers, etc, etc, etc. It's just a BIG dissapointment going to see a film these days. What this guy has done is not acceptable. But someone got stop those rude people somehow too.
Weird story. Either he was on drugs, or he has mental problems, or he wanted to be arrested for some reason. I wouldn't jump to conclusions based on his photo: Pardo and Smith both looked like the dad next door and look what they did, and I know some tough looking characters that are the nicest people you can imagine.

If I were on the jury for his trial, I'd vote to let him free. People behave like inconsiderate assholes at the movies - they talk, they text, they eat like they're in the middle of a barnyard. Nevermind that some people actually go to the theater to watch - and listen to - the movie; it's all about them making themselves at home and screw everybody else. The theaters aren't doing anything to curb this behavior; maybe if people were afraid they'd end up in the emergency room, they'd act more like decent human beings.
