The song originally called "Smack Into You" was written for Jon McLaughlins sophomore album "Ok Now" by Tricky Stewart and The-Dream. Though, the song was later scrapped from the album, Jon did perform the song live on his summer/fall tour. Not letting an amazing song go to waste, it was presented to Beyonce and changed to "Smash Into You". Thats the part Beyonce must have "written" in order to receive that coveted writing credit because the two versions are practially identical lyrically otherwise.

What a relief!
To recap - early this morning, we heard the terrifying news that 54-year-old Robert Dewey Hoskins, a man who was convicted of stalking and threatening Madonna, had escaped from a mental hospital in Norwalk, CA.
The LAPD were describing the man as follows:
"…A very psychotic man when not taking his medication and has very violent tendencies."
Now, we're VERY happy to report that the Los Angeles Police Department have captured Madonna's very dangerous stalker!
The LAPD announced that Hoskins was found around 9 a.m. this morning "not far from the mental facility from which he escaped."
He's currently in police custody and he's being escorted back to the hospital.
We're just glad that nobody was hurt while this man was on the loose. We're ESPECIALLY glad that he wasn't able to get close to Madonna.
Great job, LAPD! We're very pleased and impressed!

It's ok… Britney's version is better in my opinon ’cause once you have it stuck in your head, it sounds funny any other way.
Who wrote the song, and the music? Spears doesn't create most of "her" material.
This version is the real deal, Spears' voice is as tacky as her persona.
