Regis Philbin's Son Is Broke And Blogging
Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & True > Etc.
Is Regis Philbin a Scrooge and his financially struggling son a regular blogger?
According to reports, Philbin's son from his first marriage, Dan, suffers from a spinal cord defect that later required the amputation of his legs, making him wheelchair bound.
Really?????
After leaving his job at the Pentagon, Dan's been unemployed for the past three years, and he and his family can barely survive. Apparently, Daddy Philbin is not very generous with his moolah because Dan's wife took to the National Enquirer (real classy) to reach out to Regis for help.
Michael Lohan would be proud!
According to Dan's wife, Judy, Regis' son is too proud to ask for help, so maybe Regis isn't even aware of the extent of his son's needs.
“Our finances have gotten so bad we had to file for debt consolidation, and we barely have enough money to eat. Sometimes we have to borrow money from friends to buy food!” Judy Philbin told The Enquirer.
“To make ends meet, Danny has taken odd jobs. He worked for a while at a bookstore and more recently, he’s been working 12-hour days making decorated light switch covers to sell at weekend craft fairs.
“But at this point, we don’t even have enough money to pay the $70 fee for a booth at a craft fair!”
Judy is appealing to her famous father-in-law through The Enquirer because she says: “Danny is too afraid to ask his father for help.”
Maddox, are you out there?
Is this your future????

HMMMM! WHATEVER!
first bitches!
YAWN!
Umm get a job ?
Sad.
Re: Jessica Grady – nope.
this is sad.
I don't want to jump to conclusions, but like many Americans right now who are struggling with their finances, I think maybe this man wasn't living within his financial means. I know someone who accumulated over $100,000 in credit card debt!! I have no sympathy for those types of people, and they got themselves into that mess (can't blame the big bad bankers!!). I know the job market is though, but I'm sure he can upgrade from working at a crafts fair!….Also, I find it interesting that he mentioned his handicap, which does not seem to be directly related to him leaving his job….just looking for sympathy and handouts.
You're a blogger too, Perez.
.
.
I am shocked. His son has his legs amputated because of the spinal cord defect, and Regis wouldn't help his son???
.
Re: Taylor –
He is a trimmer.
Nasty business.
SAD. HE SHOULD BE ELIGABLE FOR SOME KIND OF DISABILITY SHOULDN'T HE?
-Hey Judy. Is your fatass working? I would bet no!
Fuk him, shitfuk. Regis has more money than Dr. Satan, wtf?
Hey perez, why don't u called your beloved "saint angie". i'm sure she will NOT help him, unless it benefits her or course. Publicity bitch…
Ew, his face looks disgusting.
I've read this before, and sadly, it's true. Regis's son was also working at the pentagon when 9/11 happened - he has been through so much. Even though Regis seems like a nice guy, when it comes to the offspring of his first marriage (when he was still a nobody) well, he would rather forget that entire part of his life. Many many famous people have done the same thing - they close the door on their past, since it reminds them of their "loser" days. This is unfair to the children. It is selfish and disgusting. It is his son. Regis should help him out big time.
He also has a daughter from his same first marriage that he doesn't give a shit about either. She lives in poor conditions too, and so does all his grandkids he doesn't give a shit about. This is the reason I don't like Regis or his wife, who is probably behind this since he stopped talking to his kids when he married her. Deadbeat asshole.
This has been going on for over 15 years. Howard Stern use to talk about it on his show a lot. This is why Regis hates Howard.
Why should Regis fit the bill. Just an FYI Regis doesn't have a reltaionship with them is because his first wife didn't want him too. And that is usually the way it goes. He is damned either way.
Ummmm …that's what happens when you leave your job. Maybe Daddy isn't dishing it out because his son is one of those selfish people that feel entitled to live off of Daddy's earnings.
Get a job!
Howard Stern has been talking about this for more than a decade. Regis never supported the son from his first marriage, that's why the son is so screwed up now. I mean not paying for someone's medical bills is really bad, Meanwhile, he throws a million dollar wedding for his daughter…
very sad, so many people are losing their shirts. In a year when unemployment benefits stop for many, its gonna be brutal.
I feel sympathy for this guy and his family. Well, there's always two sides to the story. But come on Regis…you can't take your money with ya when you die.
Regis needs to grow a set, he only speaks about Joy and their kids.
He had two kids when he met her.
Stand up and be a man and get you son on the right path.
You don't turn your back on any of your kids.
Get Judy in some job training.
THIS IS OLD NEWS ABOUT HIS SON. HOWARD STERN TALKED ABOUT IT YEARS AGO. ANYWAY, JUST BECAUSE HIS SON IS BROKE DOESN'T MEAN A PARENT HAS TO BAIL HIM OUT. YOU CAN'T RUN TO MOM AND DAD EVERY TIME SOMETHING HAPPENS IN YOUR LIFE. HIS WIFE COULD GET A JOB OR MAYBE THEY CAN CUT BACK ON SPENDING. EVERYONE THINKS JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE A RICH PARENT, THEY SHOULD SUPPORT YOU TILL YOU DIE. JUST MY 2 CENTS
I have very little respect for this woman who feels comfortable airing dirty laundry in public. If they need help, they should suck it up and speak to Regis directly and not just hope he'll help them because now their story is public.
I'm sure he'll get some money now just to shut him up. But I bet he's out of the will now!
lol regis doesn't give a shit about the other two. one day on air someone asked how many children he had and he said 2, and joy corrected him and said he had 4, but only 2 with her. he doesn't publicly acknowledge them why would he send them money?
Re: BELLABABY12 – my now being unable to work at all is directly related to my congenital disability, which you truly know little about. I have tried to find a job. So I made myself a job. Problem? I don't need or want anyone's sympathy or hand-outs. I would like my father to pay attention to the fact that his son's life is getting no easier and if he does not care he should say so. Nobody will care what is written in a tabloid and he knows that. Your comment, bereft of knowledge as it is, is hurtful to me and my side of the family. We will keep you in our prayers.
Re: lovezchoclabs – Thank you. I am only trying to stay alive - my disability is a little more complex than a "spinal condition." If my dad doesn't want to do more that is fine. Just some honesty is all I need, for a change.
Are you suggesting that Maddox will "…suffer from a spinal cord defect that later requires the amputation of his legs, making him wheelchair bound." …and then, Brangelina will turn their back on him.
Mario Lavendiera is a twisted, jealous fag…
Re: LondonHockeyGurL – I had a very meaningful job that I was forced to leave for health conditions. I have tried so hard to find someone in this desert who will hire me… to no avail. How about you come across the pond and find me a job. I will do it. In the mean time, well, enjoy the circus.
Re: LondonHockeyGurL – I had a very meaningful job that I was forced to leave for health conditions. I have tried so hard to find someone in this desert who will hire me… to no avail. How about you come across the pond and find me a job. I will do it. In the mean time, well, enjoy the circus.Re: ELUC –
just because this person went to the enquirer, it doesn't mean it is the truth or the entire truth. A lot is not in the story. If someone is able to make switchplate 12 hours a day all week long, he should be able to hold a better paying job. If he is not able to do it now, he would, eventually he would probably qualify for social security disability, and health insurance with that and right now, food stamps and other government aid. We are not getting the full story on either side.
Re: ELUC – Judy suffers from a termnal illness, smart person. You feel validated, now? Punk.
Re: Laurie _123 – Thank you for your kindness. Judy and I will be OK, we have God on our side, here, I think.
Re: pampam – I have invited Howard to interview me. I have yet to hear back. This time, I will speak. I just cannot handle the silence, and if people thioink we are crybabies, they should see my dad whenever he is asked for help from us - and he is quite mean about it, if the assistance is granted. I don't use people.
Re: jimmyjazz – I can work. All I need is for someone to hire me. I don't want to go on disability. It's like slavery.
Re: unjustme – You have no idea what you are talking about. It can be so funny to read this stuff.
Re: Rozzy252 – Get some reliable information. You know nothing of me or my situation. Let's take out half your spine - just for a week, smart person, see how you do. Daddy doesn't dish out pieces of his excrement without conditions. He is a control freak without control of me.
Re: Au_140 – Man, you should have seen that opulent spectacle.
Re: UGLY=PEREZ – Many people ask me, why is he waiting until he dies to help you? I asked him about this question and he told me it sounded to him as if I were saying "Hurry up and die!" Talk about clueless. I read this stuff and now I am the bad guy, the lazy guy…
Re: TorontoPerezFan – Thank you. Unfortunately, Judy suffers a terminal illness and her time for work had to be curtailed a bit. I know, she talked to a tabloid, but nobody else will upset my father's ego.
Re: SOMETHING SMELLS – Thank you fror your sagacity. The dictionary is under your unfinished dinner, sitting on the coffe table, in front of your well used couch. God bless you, sir.
You People have NO Idea what you are talking about!!
The National Inquirer writes a story & You Believe it!!
Get A Life!!
Re: MP – You, like so many others, stick your feet in your mouths so much, it's scary. On the other hand, smart person, go screw yourself.
Dude,
When I get it back together, however that happens, maybe I will start a blog - I like intellectual America!
Re: MP – And nobdy is comfortable havng to take such a drastic step. I did not make him famous, and I will not clean up his social mess.
Re: Lindarella – I never lived as though I was in his will, so why not tell the truth and unburden my psyche, a little. He does not care what they write. He told me so, himself. But I needed food and essential medications at the time and forced myself to do what I swore I would never do. I just don't care if he is famous. He does. Whatever, I am smarter than he.
Re: justtfax – And you never will. Welcome to my world. Now, please leave.
Why did he quit his job to begin with? That's what I want to know.
Re: Hot Monkey Love Obama Style! – Amen.
That's messed up, BUT that sure is a stupid lady to think of asking for help in that way (through a magazine). Wife of Regis' son, get a job yourself too and hey, buck up and ask him for some help, Dan. eeer
Re: kerkieberkie – I regretfully left my Pentagon employment November 18, 2005, because my mother broke her hip fleeing Hurricane Katrina, and the mid-Atlantic climate was starting to really lay havoc with both our sets of bones. I moved west because I believed that my mother needed me more than Rumsfeld. I had a thin line ona job out here and grabbed for it, but it slipped away. I have been turned away by those who respond, stamped, "OVERQUALIFIED." My mother lost everything. I feel I owe my mother my life. My dad, I think, destroyed her - hell, he wrecked us all.
Re: XXXXXX – Another country heard from. Good luck, you are quite the eloquent one.
Feel free to visit myspace: Philbin West Coast, it's a bit slim, but I am working on it. Again, thank you to those who took the time to at least understand, the rest of you can set yourselves on fire.
Re: LettyB WISHES YOU A HAPPY NEW YEAR! – This was the nicest submission to read. You, too, have a very happy New Year. Thank you, Letty.
Re: Danyeal1 – Don't pray for dorks. I hope Regis grows a heart and helps you and your sister out.
Re: orchidgirl – I know, it's so counterproductive to his much prized image. Weird.
Re: Kodes100 – Kodes is right. I am lying, Judy is lying, my mother lies, my sister lives in a house like Saddam's, everything is gold plated. - all of us have been lying for all these years. Can you imagine with all of todays communications technology that we can keep our stories consistent for such a time. You're good; you've got a gift.
Re: Debaucherina – Sorry, my sarcasm gets the best of me; good thing I'm in a wheelchair already.
Re: XXXXXX – Call my wife "stupid," but have you the intestinal firtitude, that would be, "the guts," to enable she and I to make physical contact with you so you can tell her to her face. We will find a way to come to you. Day or night, smart person. We have all sorts of ways to cheer you up. Being part of the attic family I take shit from no one. So, let's get together soon. Have your people call mine. And bring your lunch buttwipe.
Re: sugarglitter – I think he plucks, it helps his disposition.
Re: Debaucherina – a what?
Probably because he sponged off his Daddyo too many times and now DaddyO says "bah" to him. Seriously there is always 2 sides to every story.
Regis is a piece of crap. He kisses celebrity butt for money and then lets his own starve. Howard Stern has him pegged right. Maybe Perez can give Regis' son a job. Bookeeping or something.
Re: Krista66 – Yes, there are 2 sides to every story. Wow. OK, I dare you to try to get Regis' side. I would like to hear it, too. But, boy, does he get confrontational. I hope you can handle it, I survive, somehow. Why? Don't know. I have a feeling, though, that you will get to the bottom of this conundrum. You keep pluggin' there, Sparky!
Re: Wade Savage – I am shit with numbers; haven't you heard? Thanks, anyway, dude. Everything works out, you know?
Oh yeah. Going the The national Enquirer is really the way to get Regis to help. I haven't heard anything that said she asked him DIRECTLY. There has to be more to this otherwise she just seems like a publicity seeking mooch.
Re: ELUC – BTW, Judy, as most women would be, becomes very concerned about the subject of the size of her ass. She wants your balls, or just you, for her own amusement. Sounds pretty painful. Glad she likes mine. Serious, though, you don't say anything to a woman about her ass, especially one you really dont know. In fact, her ass is quite flat. But, you will be remembered when I pray tonight that your house catches fire.
Re: AmbrosiaRose – Really? And all of what the hell do you know about anything? If you have an an idea about how to change a person you should get it out there. Could be important. I'll ask Judy. You are sure about what you know about what communication with my father is like for me? Wow. Heavy. If he could make the time, Judy would be incredibly unhesitant to say anything to my father, or his wife, Joy, who has balls, I think. Crawl back into your hole of ignorance and rot with it. You are another one who does not know.
Re: Sweetpiece wishes Happy New Year too! – And Happy New Year from Donegal, Buddy, Callie, Gin Gin, Faylen - who am I forgetting — oh, Murphy the Killer, and O'Dell. Thank you.
Re: Danyeal1 – Man, do I have a tatoo you should see. People don't know what to say when they see it. It's a typical wheelchair stick figure guy, inside a red ring with a red line. The looks on the faces - priceless. I like to have fun.
I met Daniel several years ago when he was working at the Pentagon and I worked at the mall at Pentagon City. We had several conversations over a year or two when we would bump into each other at the mall and on the metro. He is a lovely man. When I was speaking to him, I had no idea who his father was and he never mentioned it. It wasn't until years later, I saw the photo and was shocked to make the connection. I had to pull his business card from my wallet just to confirm it. People are quick to pass judgment (and I wouldn't necessarily have gone to the Enquirer), but Daniel was very nice, never named dropped, seemed to never have capitalized on his father's celebrity, certainly not in our conversations. If he has hit rough times, I am sorry and would hope his father would do what so many other fathers of adult children do in tough times - help him out.
Best wishes to you, Dan.
Re: Momma! – I needed medication and food. No place else to turn. They all cover each other so well.
I don't believe the National Enquirer. His son's wife is an ATTORNEY. Regis has always taken time with his son and financed his education. He sent his son to college in Washington DC so he could use his wheelchair to get around there. I don't believe for a minute that his son is afraid to ask Regis for help.
He looks like a cheap old ass. And don't ever talk about Maddox you fag! Angie and Brad would never treat their kids like that.
It has nothing to do with running back to daddy. They are dirt poor apparently. And he is RICH! He can give them some money. What if you were shit poor and had a rich father living it up that never even acknowledged you?
Re: blsdjan – Will you believe it if I tell you myself? You know good things, and there are nice things he has done, but you don't know enough to know when to shut up. Actually, send lots of these - have you always sought a career in stand up comedy? Get your info going, too. I divorced the attorney long ago. My dad helps with what he wants to help with; how's that? Feel better.
Re: smh@ppl – I don't want any more than that which I receive. I am grateful for it. Dad helps to the extent that it makes him feel better - or something. If roles were reversed, my son would have what he needs to keep going the way he has for 43 painful-assed years. Whatever. Check out myspace: Philbin West Coast. (The black sheep).
BTW, I will be launching a new enterprise, a non-profit focusing on wheelchair access. Make a job, you know? And maybe teach people something and have an awesome time. No one should question my fight to maintain my independence. I will run your ass down!
wow i cant believe what Im reading!!! Shame on you Regis. And shame on the ppl here talking shit about someone they dont know. I wish you luck and God Bless you Danyeal
Re: Rosebud – Thanks. This whole thing is weird for me. It actually started because I was trying to get a job and could not get into the building. I was met by a radio station president in my car! I don't blame him; ADA is a weird fact of life that has its ups and downs - like life. Been farther down. All will be well, I have always believed that despite the idiots that surround me. Take care.
There may be retaliation from mysterious corners for my openness with some of you. Stay tuned. That's showbiz! Jerks.
I have never understood fathers who forget about their kids from their first wives. I can't understand people who have money who do not share with their families and friends. Most people dream of hitting the lottery and being able to share good things with their families. I feel bad for families of celebrities- these celebs often are in places of very great fame and fortune because of being in the right place at the right time. There are thousands of very talented unemployed actors etc.
ICKY ICKY POO !! WHAT IS WRONG W/ REGIS' FACE W/ THOSE DISGUSTING SPOTS ?? YUCK !!!
At my daughter's private school I have noticed a trend of 2nd wives sending their children to private school, while the first kids finish up at public. IT MAKES ME LOSE FAITH IN HUMANITY when I read things like this. My in-laws behaved terribly to us for many years. We will never speak to them again. It is very hard to fathom. How can you have faith in anything when your own parents don't even care about you? I now live by the following: NEVER associate with one who does their own kid dirty.
Simple rule of life Number One.
You make a child you are responsible for them until you are gone. No discussion.
Regis should be ashamed to be such a mean individual.
Re: Megan1 – Good advice. My wife and I thank you for your kindness.
I feel so badly that so many believe this a money issue. It is a money issue for my dad. So many know only from what they are reading and I feel a little like a pariah - how did my searching for a job turn into what this has become. My motives are questioned as is my love for my father. He is godzilla-famou and does not have to worry about a thing financially. Judy and I asked for a little more, one installment only, he freaked, and wanted to see my bills. Well, that is not going to happen. My father either trusts me or not. I did not grow up in the light of his alleged generosity. So, yes, dad helps, but my medical situation is such that life for me is becoming more difficult; that is my problem and why should he be concerned, right? It hurts me to be called "lazy" or be accussed of being a mooch; my wife is attacked for doing what had to be done in order for us to purchase what we need, not what we want. Heaven forbid. People are suspicious of me for asking my father for help. That's cool; I know more than everyone with some thing to say. What happened to this country? If you feel that Regis will be unable to pay his bills because he is shelling out vast sums of money to me, or any of his first family, they have it wrong. If you are not living it, what can you tell me about this situation.
I have been informed by my step-mother, via my wife, that my father, Regis Philbin, may cease all communication with me if I refuse to stop blogging. Cool, seizing my contitutional rights to free speech and expression. So unnecessary, so anticipated.
Any "father" who sits back and let's their disabled kid (no matter the age) suffer and do without the basic necessities in life, is a scum bag. Especially if he has a ton of dough. Get it together Philbin!!! Send your son a check for enough money to live on comfortably for the rest of his life. No strings, no questions, just a big fat check with a pretty little smile. Oh, and while you're at it, call your eldest daughter and acknowledge your grandchildren.
Maybe Judy should consider putting her family first and maybe do something crazy like working 2 jobs until they are financially stable and stop acting like they deserve a handout just because Regis has money….GROW UP!!!!!
its all Joys fault
Re: Danyeal1 – Dan-I really appreciate you shedding light on this situation for us. You're right, we don't know what it's like to struggle as you have. I don't blame you one bit for being hurt about him wanting to see your bills…that's ridiculous! Like what….you're hoarding some secret stash in a shoebox?? I know it's not much, but I will keep you and your family in my prayers. And thanks again for setting the record straight.
Re: jo46032 – Why don't you get better informed. My wife has a terminal illness. Please, spontaneously combust at your earliest possible convenience. What in hell do you know about anything?
Re: SHADDUP – Thanks, man.
Re: jo46032 – Oh, you're ignorant and just as mean as my father. You guys should do a tag team thing. We aasked once for some help. Please feel free: I am interested in your observation, limited and ridiculous as it is. I and Judy will come to you, then, we will drive you to a hospital to have her Doc Martin's excised from your butt. Nothing frightens me, I have too much experience with horror; thanks ever so much for the extra horror. Don't forget to blow up, real soon.
I find it sad that Dan and Judy felt the need to go to the national enquirer of all places. This obviously has nothing to do with money, it's a personal private family matter that should have stayed private. Danny- your parents go divorced over 35 years ago get over it. I am sure that Regis has given Danny & his sister Amy lots of money in the past and maybe they pissed it away on bad investments, business ventures or drugs. How much money does Regis have to give to keep his name out of the enquirer.
