Seriously Detroit, it takes a lot of effort to be this bad!
For the first time in NFL history a team has had a record low of 0-16.
Only close to The Lions were the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a 0-14 record back in 1976.
But to lose 16 games in a row? That takes talent. Or a brilliant lack thereof!
Lions coach Rod Marinelli said "No competitor wants to go through something like this. This is not fun to go through, obviously. But there's people going through a lot worse than this."
What the hell is he talking about? There's always people going through worse in the world, but we're talking about football here. And in football, HIS team is definitely the worst!
And when asked what his next step might be if he were able to keep his job, Marinelli added, "Let me get through step one first."
Somehow we doubt his contract will be renewed.
But the loss also looks badly on the players.
Center Dominic Raiola said, "I've got to live with this. I've been here eight years. This is on my resume."
And kicker Jason Hanson added, "It's just kind of numb. It's here. It's been coming, though, a train rolling down the tracks for a while. We tried to stop it. We couldn't."
Lions' Dan Orlovsky claims "I don't ever want to be a part of this again. We haven't won since, November of '07, maybe? I don't even know the last time we won a game."

Dear Ford Family….Please sell your team. It seems Detroit has been thru many formerly successful coaches and positive talented quarterbacks and continue to be a shameful team. However after all these changes, the one consistent is your family owning the team. And rumor has it when the coach tried to work the guys and build some team spirit, some loser guys on the team went whining to you and the coach was told to lay off. Hmmmmm seems the only real problem is the Ford Family.

I am from michigan and we had a party rooting against the lions we wanted them to be the worst team. they sucked for all these years i would have hated them if they won 1 game and screwed us out of a perfect season. LOL so when your all laughing at us you must understand we are happy there is a 0 - 16 and if william clay ford dont get his head out of his ass we will be 0-16 next year too wooohoo lions suck

In all fairness though in 1976 it was only a 14 game season. So they both have the honour of losing every game in a season.

Dumbass you know nothing about sports. The reason the 76 Bucs were "only close" with 0-14 is because back then the season was only 14 games long. They have since lengthened the season to 16 games hence the 0-16. Both teams lost the whole season. Stick to celebrity crap.
Oh and part of the reason they kept losing was they had 15, yes 15 starters on the injured reserve list.

I am from Michigan, and I happen to be a Detroit Lions season ticket holder. It does suck, and yes there are worse things in the world, and I am very aware of them. Shame on the losers with the tunnel vision who think that a football fan does not realize it. NFL football is an experience….so fuck you people who don't know shit about football and the NFL. As for you other assholes who think Detroit/Michigan are the "armpit" of America…how about the next time you drink water from a bottle or turn your sink on to drink or shower, you think twice about where that water is coming from? Technically, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were 0 - 26 if you combine the twelve loses to end the 1975 season. The Lions lost the last game in '07, so they have lost seventeen consecutive games. They will be the worst when if they lose the first ten games of the '09 season.

hate to rain on some peoples Parade but, Michigan doesn't suck. The lions have sucked for years. I think it's wrong how most sports stars get paid more then the Pres. Of the united states. Maybe if the NFL paid the stars for how they played, we wouldn't have this problem. If you lose a game.. you don't get paid.. Now then i would start to watch Ft ball again
just look at it this way. last year the nfl's miami dolphins had a bad year with only one win. this year they are in the playoffs. also mlb's tampa bays reys had a shity 2007(and by shitty i mean they never won at all) only to come back to go the world series in 2008. my point anything can happen in the world of sports. if history shows us anything it that the lions can bounce back in 2009 hopefuly with the rest of Detroit.
