Actor-turned-musician Joaquin Phoenix was spotted pAArtying in Miami looking a little worse for the wear.
After a 2005 rehab stint (Everybody's doing it!), the former actor is said to have suffered a fairly upsetting 2008, and his increasingly strange and aloof behavior has family, friends, and colleagues worried. He skipped out on the Cannes premiere of his last flick, Two Lovers, with co-star Gwynnie Paltrow and has acted bizarrely at recent events.
A source says, "For people who know Joaquin, it's been an incredibly traumatic year, filled with chaos," adding, "Everyone wants to help but nobody's been able to break through. His bizarre behaviour has everyone worried. It's just getting scary."
Joaquin was at brother Rivers' side when the actor famously collapsed outside the Viper Room and later died of a drug overdose at the tender age of 23.
Could Joaquin be headed down the same path?

Maybe it's just me but, after Joaquin watched his brother River die of a drug overdose, I figured he would be one of those celebrities who stayed clean. But, I guess not. How sad!!
There's no need for "BYE! GOOD" comment. Knowing the loss Joaquin suffered with his brother, is it really appropriate to be joking about this? Why not make a post mimicking Heath Ledgers death too?

Well it doesn't surprise me that he is doing this. I have always seen him as troubled. He didn't watch his brother die on a cold side walk in Hollywood all those yrs ago without being unscathed. I think that he has been carrying that memory with him for a looooooooong time. I know that not only did they have hippie parents but they were taught some really hardcore shit about religion and that was one of the greater reasons that River really struggled with fame and the lifestyle that goes with it, if you get caught up in certain circles. I think that they have serious issues when it comes to guilt and beating themselves up about shit. I just wish that Joaq. would be better to himself because I think he tells himself that hes not good enough and that he doesn't deserve the credit that people give him. He is such an amazing talent. I am and continue to be amazed when I see his work in certain films. I think he really needs to give himself a break. He cant change the past and all he has is his future, I really do hope that he has the strength to give himself the chance that he deserves. Someone needs to intervene and MAKE him get help. Or he wont be here for much longer and I REALLY don't want to hear another Heath Ledger story in the next 6 months!! NO, NO, NO!
This is a totally too sad story, this family needs to step in and help him, WTF are they? You would think with losing one member of the family they would be pro-active to prevent it from happening again.
I do agree, he has to be carrying the death of watching his brother with him though, theres no way you can't. Any time death happens rather you see it or you hear it, it's going to be with you for life. I know that first hand, I listened to my hubby die on the phone on 12/1/ 08 and I still can't sleep for more then a 2 hours.

I hope that everyone is wrong and that he is okay. He is an amzing talent! I will be so bummed out if I hear more bad stuff. He is one of my favorite actors. I know that he hates people bringing up his brothers death. That has too be hard..you know. Joaquin if you are having hard time hopefully you will

I have respect for his talent. Considering the burdens he must be shouldering in his mind, I really hope someone can break through. Don't want to read how "somebody should have done something" after a disasterous consequence.
This is a sad story. I feel bad for Joaquin. I can't imagine burying my brother or sister that young and for an overdose of drugs. That has to be hard, but IF he himself, had done some of those drugs with his brother and he then died later, wowwww that is like a huge head trip for anybody. It's no wonder he is out of control. This famiy needs to GET HIM HELP AND RIGHT NOW! THIS IS SERIOUS. I think he won't be alive in 2 years tops. I hope a family member or friend will step in and try to help him. SAD
Can everyone just stop blaming River for Joaquin's "downfall?" I am so tired of hearing this everytime Joaquin looks tired, or stressed or seems a little "off." River was an amazing person and actor and should have a MUCH, MUCH better legacy than his death. He was just the best actor of our time and needs to be respected! He would NOT want to be remembered just as being the "cause of his brother's breakdown!"
I live in Joaquin's hometown and saw him recently, out and about in his own element and he seems completely fine, well-adjusted and happy.

Re: bettedavis – You can't tell me that by him being there it didn't affect him. As for you seeing him have you ever heard of people putting on an act, acting like it doesnt hurt? You can try your hardest and try to forget but in the end that kind of problem will always catch up to you.
