I guess fat ass Oprah is not as influential as she used to be. She dedicated a full hour to this movie and acted like it was the greatest movie ever made.
People suffering through hard economic times don't wanna see a sweeping historical saga . . . we wanna be entertained, to forget our lives for just a little while. Action / sci-fi / special FX blow outs are what will make big bank now.

I haven't gotten a chance to see Australia yet but I deff will. Moulin Rouge is one of my all time favorite movies.

i dont think she won't be happy about it. i don't really think she will care.
its nothing she doesnt already know, and it is not attacking her personally at all. It's just displaying the facts.
honestly, i dont think the movie grossing what it did has anything to do with nicole. i think it is because it is quite a long movie…with a mature concept. older, more intelligent people that would generally go to this movie, don't really have the time to go to the cinema.
the fact is…this movie was absolutly brilliant. it shattered all my expectations (in a good way) and everyone was amazing in it. moulin rouge is my favorite movie, but this one is a close second.
this sort of thing happens to every star. you get some hits and you get some flops! many actresses dont make the bold choices nicole makes, but all have failures and wins. its just the way it is.
however, i wouldnt classify this movie as a failure.
I am not surprisd. I saw the movie, and it was quite boring. I had expected it to be some sort of Gone with the Wind or some fabulous drama, but it was really a snorefest. How disappointing!
How did they expect us to be interested in a movie that seems to be so blatantly self-congratulatory? It's like the movie was written just as a vehicle for Nicole Kidman to show off. It's overblown nonsense.
That film was destined to suck balls. I don't see what the big shocker is.

Shoot me as I also loved the movie, not sure where all the hate is coming from. Most of the people slamming it haven't even bothered to see it. Worth the price of admission just to see Hugh Jackman.
Well maybe she won't be employed for awhile and can spend some time with those two poor other children. She should take some tips from Hugh Jackman who seems to adore his adopted children. Karma baby…..give your kids some time and maybe you'll have a hit.

So true… sick of hearing about Nicole as the dotting wonderful mother to Sunday… What about her two adopted children? Yes, she should take a leaf out of Hugh's book and be a great proud parent to those two beautiful kids. You never see her with them or speak of them, it is a though she is a first time parent. SHAME on her!
Maybe she could lay off the botox and what ever else she is doing to herself to make her seem plastic and spend time with her kids.
I really like Nicole Kidman, she seems to know how to stay grounded, but I have never seen a movie of hers that was any good!
Hugh Jackman is fucking hot - THat's why the movie has had such good reviews not cuz of Nicole.
