Princess Diaries Sold For Thousands

Filed under: Anglophilia > Royals Royce

Remember those Princess Diana letters we told you about?

Well, they were just auctioned off for a very pretty penny!

One letter that a 17-year-old Diana wrote to her nanny concerning the failed courtship between her older sister and future husband Prince Charles sold for a whopping a 12,431 pounds (22,000 dollars!!!).

In the same letter, the elegant Diana reveals her very human insecurity, saying that though she loves to sing and dance she believes she is awful at both.

Three other letters sold for 16,079 pounds - yup, that's about $30,000!!!

NYC Mayor Attempts To Revise Term Limits For A Third Term!

third-time.jpg

This financial crisis is making politicians crazier than Michael Lohan in front of a reporter's microphone!

After voicing strong support for office limits and labeling attempts to alter limits "disgusting," New York Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg plans on doing just those things, The New York Times is reporting.

Former Wall Street Trader and independent party-aligned Bloomberg plans to announce on Thursday his intentions to revise New York City's office term limits and run for a third term in office. He would be only the fourth ever mayor to do so.

And the reason for this about-face?

You guessed it!

MONEY!

Or the lack thereof.

Bloomberg, who at one point was a rumored Republican presidential candidate nom, has been encouraged by big-time business executives such as Rupert Murdoch to stay in office, as his pragmatic business sensibilities have proved him popular in that community. A recent survey of New York council members - two-thirds of whom will have to leave office with Bloomberg if he fails - found that the Mayor's intentions to amend the term limit law are largely supported.

Inneresting.

What do U think of this new development????

Bad News For The Green Ogre

shrekonbroadway.jpg

The negative buzz continues to build for the new Shrek musical!

After an out-of-town run in Seattle before its Broadway debut in November, the show is making some big tweaks.

A new actor is coming in to replace the current "Donkey" and other substantial changes are being made.

We're also hearing that a "show doctor" has been brought in to "save the production."

Sounds like a hot mess!

Yves Saint Laurent's $480 MILLION Art Collection Up for Sale

Filed under: Fashion Smashion > R.I.P.

yves__opt.jpg

We're not expecting many Americans to participate in the pricey auction, as our economy will probably be even more in the shitter come auction time.

But, the new news that recently deceased fashion icon Yves Saint Laurent's art collection goes up for sale early next year must have made the rich Arab oil-sheiks, Chinese business titans and Russian oligarchs giddy.

An art dealer told the media that the legendary French designer needed art "like water to survive".

Over the course of 40-years Monsieur Saint Laurent amassed hundreds of fine art pieces.

Works by big name artists like Picasso, Matisse and Goya had a place in his collection.

In fact, one of his Picassos, Instruments de Musique sur un Guéridon, should fetch $56 million!!!!

His partner of over 40-years, Pierre Bergé, said that every single piece in the collection will be sold. Berge said the decision to sell all the items had been taken before the designer succumbed to brain cancer in June. According to a report, Berge revealed that only when the last object had passed under the hammer would this signify the end. He also drew a comparison with divorce, saying "even when these objects are gone, they won't leave me".

Berge also said some of the proceeds will go towards the fight against AIDS.

Kudos to that!

Start 'em Young! Sharon Stone Wanted to Botox Her Son's Feet!

sharon_stone_2_wenn20914772__opt1.jpg

According to the "Tentative Statement of Decision" for Sharon Stone's custody case the actress has, in essence, lost her shit. And, consequently, her adopted 8-year-old son.

It seems that Sharon Stone has been overreacting to son Roan's medical conditions - imagined or otherwise. Sharon Stone sought treatment for a spinal condition that never existed and, even crazier, Sharon Stone suggested Botox injections for foot odor!

OUCH!

It's called wearing socks???

Just blame it on that missing chunk of her brain!

The judge in her case says, "Unfortunately, the problem caused by Mother's overreactions is painfully real for this child."

Very real indeed!

And, "if Mother has, in fact, limited her career to make herself available for Roan, she has done little to make this evident to Roan, his school or this Court."

Update:

We're now learning that in a recent modification to the Statement, Stone's ex-husband, Phil Bronstein, has won primary custody of Roan, with Sharon granted one weekend a month, plus Christmas Eve and Day.

Your First Look!

tinaturner.jpg

The ageless Tina Turner is about to embark on a 7-month world tour.

It's hard to believe that she is 68-years old!

The music legend has hired her trusty friend Bob Mackie (yes, the same guy who designs for Cher) to whip up the stuff that she'll strut in on-stage.

One of the designer's tour costume sketches was revealed on Tuesday (above).

There's no doubt that Tina will look amazing in that short, sexy, short, chocolate creation!

Did we mention SHORT???

Mackie said Tina's “leaning a bit more towards a rock-influenced look.”

So, there's going to be thigh-grazing dresses, beaded tops and shiny stretch pants accented by lacing, fringe, studs and jewels.

Delicious!

Slutty Cashes In!

Filed under: Anglophilia > Sienna Miller

wenn20684128.jpg

Somehow, "actress" Sienna Miller has won her battle against The Daily Star over a paparazzi photo.

The 26 year-old homewrecker sued paper over a photo taken in Los Angeles she claimed violated her privacy.

Sluttyienna won over $20,000 in damages in an out-of-court settlement against the publication over the photo.

In addition to the money, the paper also printed an apology to Slutty.

The Daily Star stated that it accepted she was "extremely harassed and distressed by persistent pursuit and intimidating tactics" by the paparazzi."

It added, "We apologise to Sienna for publishing this photograph."

How sweet.

And yet, how exaggerated.

In the photo in question, a harried Miller is trapped by a throng of photogs outside the elevator of a L.A. building.

Who do U think was in the right?
