Prince Aims To Please in '09

Prince is gonna hit us hard in 2009.

The original diva is set to release THREE albums this year!

According to the LA Times, Prince is in negotiations with "a major retailer" to distribute the albums.

He'll also be selling them on a new and interactive website.

As to why he's not working with a record label this time, Prince says, "The gatekeepers have to change."

The first of his three new albums to be released is tentatively titled MPLSOUND and "is an electro-flavored solo effort recorded at Paisley Park Studios." One of the songs even features a Q-Tip rap.

The style is described as going back to the sound of When Doves Cry.

His Lotus Flower is described as "a varied album, featuring cuts recorded over the course of two years, but standout tracks include some heavy rockers — especially the apocalyptic "Dreamer," which Prince said was partly inspired by the radical black comedian Dick Gregory."

Can't wait to hear the new music.

Prince only gets better with time!

Not a fan of Prince's music, but he hardly sucks. Those that say it have no idea about music at all. He's a musical genius. That doesn't mean you have to like his music or him. I don't, but I realize the guy has talent.

I am more concerned with that underage girl he married or was dating or whatever.. weird.

Well, I for one, am looking forward to whatever Prince comes out with -I'm a Minneapolis girl & have loved him since I first heard "I wanna be your lover" way back in the day….I dont love each & every one of his songs, but I do like most. he's different, & I like that - and his shit makes me DANCE!!!!

I loves me some of this little purple man's music! I listened to "Another Lonely Christmas" as my holiday theme, though I wasn't lonely at all. It's just a really beautiful song, as are most of his others. *sigh*

We all have our own taste in music, but to those who say Prince isn't a musical genius, or hasn't made "listenable music", maybe you should expand your mind and actually take another listen. And I'm not just talking about the "Purple Rain" stuff…..Perez is right, he just gets better with time!! NO ONE does ballads better, and the funk just flows through his veins! I have heard some of the new song from one of the new albums and love them. Can't wait for all 3 cds and the tour that is sure to follow!!
