Patrick Swayze Sits Down To Chat

Barbara Walters has landed the first TV interview with Patrick Swayze since the actor revealed last year that he was battling pancreatic cancer, one of the deadliest forms of the disease.

The two old friends met up at Swayze's ranch outside Los Angeles, where Walters first interviewed Swayze for a TV special eight years ago.

Barbara says, "Everything about him (Swayze) impresses me: his courage, his humour. There's something very valiant about him… He's a fighter."

The interview airs this Wednesday on ABC.

My sincere best wishes for Patrick Swayze.
    .
I'll forever remember him in "Ghost" with Demi Moore in that scene with their hands touching over turning pottery wheel and Elvis Presley's "Oh my love, I hunger for your touch " playing. It makes you cry.

Re: orchidgirl – That wasn't Elvis OG. It was "Unchained Melody" performed by The Righteous Brothers.

    You are probably right (-:
    .
But Elvis sang this song for years. I've just seen on YouTube a footage of Elvis's last performance of his life in Las Vegas, and he was singing "The Unchained Melody" and playing the piano, and after he finished the song, he stood up, threw his scarf to a fan, and left supported by his people, and 2 weeks later he was dead.
    I guess that's why I always thought it was Elvis's song. (-:

A friend emailed me this American Greetings card with gorgeous flowers, and I liked it so much, so I made it my avatar yesterday. And today I log on and see this same American Greetings card on almost every post with many other posters using it !!! Arghhh… I guess other people like it also.
I'll probably will have to change it soon.

Happy New Year to you !

Re: orchidgirl – That's O.K. sweetie. It's all good. You still didn't tell me what happened to the orchid avie? You're not an impostor, are you?

  19. 19

Re: orchidgirl – That picture comes pre-installed on most windows operating system computers, in sample pictures. We need to google you up a cuter, more individual avie. Crop it, size it, etc. Then you'll be good to go.

    .
    Sheba,
    Hi, sweetheart.
    I like this guy too.
He was also in "Dirty Dancing" and " Road House", and other movies, of course.
I always thought he was a very decent human being, down to earth and real, and he was forever married to the same woman he loved, unlike the majority of the Hollywood stars.
    .
    Gentle hug for you.

  30. 30

HE STARRED IN MY FAVORITE MOVIE OF ALL TIME "ROAD HOUSE!"

  31. 31

Not to sound mean, but lets see him battle Esophageal Cancer and still have as much "courage". Pancreatic cancer is bad, but treatments are improving the outcomes and allowing people to live loner than they had 15 years ago. Esophageal cancer, killed my father in 3 months, it is the "new" pancreatic cancer and no one does interviews about it, no one does research about it. So its good that Patrick is "fighting" but so did my dad, but no one did a sit down interview with him

Hang in there papi! Stay strong!!

I still remember her interview of him back in 1988 (gosh, has it been that long?) right after the whole "Dirty Dancing" phenomenon, I was 13 and he was my first major movie star crush. She got him to cry when he talked about his dad's sudden and unexpected death. I hope Patrick is getting better and has beaten cancer - pancreatic is especially bad! Both my grandpa and my husband's grandpa died of that shit. I hope they find a cure soon!

  34. 34

Someone said earlier that they would like to see him battle other forms of cancer. My daddy died of pancreatic cancer, there are no magical treatments that have evolved to make pancreatic cancer better. It is still one of the most deadly forms of cancer that a person can get. Those who are diagnosed are lucky if they live past one year, I watched my dad die in three months.

Regardless, any form of cancer is deadly and those that have died and those that survive experience suffering greater than one could imagine.

Please people, keep in mind that the most deadly forms of cancer be it pancreatic, esophageal or brain are deadly because research is underfunded due to lack of survivors rallying for support. Let's fight all forms of cancer so that no one may suffer any more.
