Autopsy Reveals Jett Travolta Died Of "Seizure Disorder"

A source close to the Travolta family has revealed to People that the autopsy of Jett lists a "seizure disorder" as the cause of death.
No official statement regarding the autopsy - which was conducted today, Monday - has been released, however.
A second source confirms to the Associated Press that Jett died of a seizure.
Glen Campbell is assistant director of the funeral home in the Bahamas handling the remains of John Travolta's 16-year-old son. He tells the A.P. that the body is in "great condition" and shows no sign of head trauma, despite police officials who said the teen may have hit his head on a bathtub.
So sad.

No matter what people are thinking, losing a child is the worst experience for any parent. Jett was put on this earth for too short of a time. It is every parents worst nightmare!! I wish the family well.

Morning all (well late evening for most of you guys). I'm in shock over this Jett Travolta biso. Hubby swept me off for a weekend away to make up for working through Xmas and we were in a rainforest retreat - no phones, TV etc.
Poor kid - I'd always assumed he must have had the best of everything.

It is very easy to judge other people but in this case no one is aware of his medical condition or treatment besides the parents and doctors treating him. I dont think they are under any obligation to release this information to the public. This is not a murder. Just because someone is an actor or actress (and especially their child) doesnt mean their personal medical information should be released to satisfy the public's need for cross-burning. No one can possibly imagine what it is like to handle a child with a medical condition UNTIL YOU HAVE ONE YOURSELF. Back off bullies and let these poor parents mourn in peace.

As someone that has a sibling suffering from epilepsy, it is my understanding that it is impossible to die from a seizure alone. You can, however, die from a head trauma or drowning as a result of a seizure.
This is so sad, and I really do not understand why in the middle of such heartbreak people have to be cruel.

Of course he died of a seizure because his parents decided to pulls his seizure meds. If he had been a diabetic and the didn't give him insulin, he would be dead also. If he had cancer and they robbed him of chemo, he would also be dead. It's like the Jehovah Witness folks that would rather watch their child die than give them a blood transfusion. This is not an ideology, it's a mental disorder.

This is actually making me mad that they are trying to coat over things because my brother has a seizure, and anyone knows you don't just die from having a seizure disorder. the only dangerous parts of having epilepsy are the danger of falling and injuring yourself badly OR stopping seizure medication suddenly.
Depakote is not a good seizure drug, my brother was on it, but you don't just suddenly stop it, You listen to your neurologist and your neurologist will always wean you off it slowly and switch you to another drug. My brother did this. If you suddenly stop taking depakote after many years of use, that's dangerous and you can have a LONG dangerous seizure.
Someone should have been watching him then you call 911 if the seizure is longer than 3 minutes and they will give the person a muscle relaxant or medication which immediately stops the seizure. He must have been left alone a long time.

i have epilepsy. it IS possible (although rare) to die from a seizure. in fact, people with epilepsy have a mortality rate 2-3 times higher than normal people.

While I don't discount that whatever 'religion' this family followed may have discouraged medications, it is - from my understanding - almost unheard of to die from a seizure itself. Re: janebird – I think they are trying to cover something up. Maybe it's a reaction due to mixing medications, or maybe there was some type of head trauma.
Funny how the POLICE who were on site after the thing happened describe a very different scene.
The Travolta's are re-writing the story of what and how things happened…Just like they believed that denying Jett had autism would make it so.
They were wrong and it appears they most likely did not get the treatment for this boy that he needed. www.whyaretheydead.net has way too many stories to count about Scientologists who have died because they were denied or denied themselves proper medical treatment because of involevement in the CULT of SCIENTOLOGY.
I have epilepsy and you can die from seizure alone. It's called SUDEP. I have been on many, many different meds. They all work at first, then they just stop working. These meds are pretty strong stuff, and sometimes it seems senseless because you are still having seizures anyway. I have often thought of stopping the meds, and I'm not a scientologist. Also I think that is why they have kept him out of the public eye. The cameras always flashing, are a perfect recipe for seizures. Give this poor family a break!
How in the hell did they get an autopsy back so fast? Man the bahamas is like a breeding ground for death. It took two weeks for Anna's to come back when she hit the sack for good, and his comes back in like two fucking days?
I never liked Kelly or John, but there is something very very fucking fishy about this whole damn thing.

It is possible to suddenly die from seizures. It's a real medical issue. People, google SUDEP (stands for Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy). This is a very real fact that we Epileptics have to face. For information on the condition, visit www.epilepsy.com. You'll see that the misconceptions about epilepsy are great.
It's horrible and it's so sad, but it happens. I'm not saying there isn't anything weird about this situation, but this does happen and people denying that it does are just wrong.

This is an absolute tragedy ~ regardless! I adore John Travolta and I couldn't care less about his religious beliefs UNLESS he allowed his beliefs to interfere with the welfare of his children. I don't think any parent can ever recover from the loss of a child; it's not the natural course of events that one expects to live through. I can NOT imagine the guilt he will have to live with if he and Kelly denied Jett the proper medication for his condition. John will never be the same; he wore his heart on his sleeve and it breaks MY heart that he is suffering. RIP Jett.

I'm not sure what kind of circuitous logic this LG is referring to, but this your point is my point. SUDEP is real and you can die of a seizure or just suddenly die. My replies have been censored or not gone through for some reason, but I earlier gave the wrong definition of SUDEP. It's Sudden Unexplained Death in Epilepsy, not unexpected. Every one with epilepsy is different. There are so many medications and so many types of seizures. It's hard to say this is what happened to this boy when the public has so little information. I have no idea and I'm not one to say whether the parents treated it correctly or not. I'm just saying that the public has huge misconceptions about seizure disorders. I've read a lot of stuff that people think about epilepsy that is just laughable. Just because someone's cousin's boyfriend's neighbor has epilepsy doesn't make that someone an expert. People should just do some research.

Oh and I also never commented on whether or not this kid was autistic. Epilepsy and seizures are not all attributed to autism. I don't know enough about the links between autism and epilepsy to give my opinion on that. I have no idea if I believe he was autistic or had Kawasaki syndrome. I do know that Epilepsy can be totally unrelated to those to medical conditions…That's pretty obvious.

There is something really odd about this. Why is his body being handled in the Bahamas? Why did the autopsy not talk about him hitting his head? Did the examiner overlook this? Seriously, there's stuff they're not saying.
My nephew is autistic and had a seizure disorder. Jett and he seem to share many similar qualities. When his seizure meds stopped working, his neurologist tried another. Along the way, he had many brushes with death - including falling off a sea wall while having a seizure…but, my sister jumped in after him. He also had constant chaperones - even in the bathroom. He went through many medication changes over the years and when all else failed, he had brain surgery. He has been seizure free for over 2 years - but he is still taking seizure medications. I feel sorry for his family, especially if they were the ones whose choices caused this direly sad ending. It is a decision that they are going to live with for many years to come. Very sad!
Why didn't they release the time of death? Is this why David Miscavige missed the cults New years eve party? Why was the Travolta family doctor at the autopsy? Why was he cremeted immediately after the autopsy? Why was he on no medication at all? If the old medication didn't work why wasn't another one tried, there are dozens? Why was the Jeff Kathrein, who was pictured kissing John a couple of years back and has been his rumoured lover for years, employed as a nanny when he's a photographer? Many people believe that Hubbard was incapacitated/insane/psychotic and was coerced into changing his will.
There has been reports of people that were with Hubbard shortly before he died that he was paranoid, using a psych drug, had long nails, long hair, generally unkempt, etc.
Also, there has been claims that some psych drug(s) were in Hubbard's system even though the cult fake 'doctrine' is against the use of such drugs.
Either way, the cult had the evidence destroyed immediately.

If there are questions later about whether Jett was or was not medicated for seizures, I guess we will have to take the word of sleazy lawyers and equally sleazy cult spokesman.
