Election Board Expected to Declare Al Franken as Winner of 'Recounted' Minnesota Senate Race

According to new reports, Minnesota's Canvassing Board is expected to announce today that Democrat Al Franken received the most overall votes from the nearly 3 million ballots cast for Senator on election day - way back in November.
Franken apparently has a a 225-vote lead over the incumbent, Republican Norm Coleman.
But things probably won't be settled even after the announcement!
There's a seven-day waiting period before an election certificate is completed and if any lawsuits are filed during that waiting period, certification is conditional until the issue is settled in court.
Lawyers for both campaigns have supposedly already laid the groundwork for lawsuits.
Coleman's lawyers promised a lawsuit over their claim that some ballots duplicated on election night wound up being counted twice in the recount and also have a petition pending before the state Supreme Court to include 650 ballots that it says were improperly rejected but not forwarded by local officials to St. Paul for counting.
Will this thing ever get settled?????
The Senate goes back to work on Tuesday.
Guess Minnesota won't be fully represented in the halls of government!

I'm glad there was a recount. I myself voted franken and am glad he came out on top. Norm Coleman said that Franken should not waste time or money on a recount; why would he want to do the same now. MN wants representation now.

I'm from Minnesota, and although it's usually a blue state, I'm pretty much a Republican. So I wanted Coleman to win. I hate Al Franken. Seriously, this whole mess was caused by him because he wanted a stupid re-count. Just because he lost. Ugh.
But yeah, there should definitely be a re-vote.

A lot of idiots on here that need educating. They never finished counting in Florida and when it seemed Gore was going to move ahead the Supreme Court ended the counting and named Bush the winner. This one they did finish the recount and the Democrat won, so now hypocritical Republicans want to tie it up in courts or re-do the election.
The ONLY difference between Franken "winning" and Bush "winning" in 2000 is the so-called mainstream media played it like Bush was illegitimate and have been silent with Franken and all the garbage the Democrats have been pulling in Minnesota. Until you realize the media in America are 90% + Democrats, then it all makes sense. Let's see: Franken in Mn, Burris in Il, and Kennedy in NY, that's a hell of a lineup for the Dems, no wonder this country is bankrupt.

Al Franken is a douche as far as his personality goes. But the man is intelligent, probably a few iq points above quite a few who comment here. So I think as a senator, he'll be fine. But I wouldn't want to have to attend a social gathering with him. But I don't vote for people I want to hang out with, unlike Bush supporters
