Former A.I. champ Taylor Hicks has lost his recording contract and has resorted to….
Starring in the touring production of Grease.
And he's not even one of the leads!
Taylor is performing the very very very small role of "Teen Angel." This week Grease hits Baltimore.
Hey, at least it's a paycheck and his home isn't in foreclosure - that we know of!

Taylor Hicks just wasn't AI material, BUT everyone drank the kool-aid and voted for him. Poor guy! You have to feel sorry for him. I'm sure he thought that the AI people would promote him and would help him, but he only fits a certain genre and that's it. Even Elliot Yamin made it and he is actually pretty good. Anyway, like you said at least Taylor is bringing in a paycheck and he'll always be known as an AI winner…

I saw him last night in Grease in Minneapolis and it seemed they made they show center COMPLETELY around him! He wasn't until about the 8th act and then once the show ended, it was like "The Taylor Hicks Show" Very strange. He has a fine voice, but not quite a voice for Broadway that's for sure.
I saw this poster at Hunt Valley the other day and thought it was sad.
He was in Grease a few months ago on Broadway and he performed "Beauty School Dropout" on Regis & Kelly and it was painful.
That's kinda sad.
Ruben's in the same boat: he's on a small tour with "Ain't Misbehavin" with the woman that auditioned for AI and got the boot because of some pornographic photos.

Maybe because they all suck ass. Singers are a dime a dozen. Im sure everyone reading this know someone who sings. It's not like they had to learn an instrument or something.
