Morbid obesity like that is an illness and and ADDICTION and should be treated as such and NOT just as some sort of weakness of character or weakness to restrain ones food intake!! There s no reason to make JOKES about people like him suffering from it.
He s having some psychological problems for sure and should get help to overcome his eating disorder….you can DIE from anorexia, you can DIE from bulimia, you can DIE from binge eating and you can DIES from obesity!

Sad. I feel bad for him he was coming out of 7-11 (few years ago) and my friend says "Hey,there's Tom Arnold." I busted out laughing and I later felt bad because it looked like he thought we were making fun of him. I would never laugh at someone's weight. I think he was awesome on Roseanne. He might be depressed. Who knows hope he takes care of himself. America has a huge obesity epidemic.

OH MY WORD! I guess he's eating all of his "Roseanne" royalty money!!
I think TMZ reported this picture months ago and then they put a more updated one where he lost a little weight and also cut that hair. I at least hope the update was true. He's a good actor and very likable in his roles. Loved him as Dan Connor on "Roseanne." He was an important aspect into making that show as funny as it was.
I just hope he gets himself together because it would be a very sad loss to the entertainment industry to lose him.
If it's emotional issues I hope he sees a therapist pronto to help him sort whatever is bothering him out.
People should stop being such jerks when commenting on a person's weight because guess what? It can happen to anybody when you get older your metabolism turns to sh*t unless you really work your a** off. So give the guy slack and try focusing on other things besides his damn weight. Well, he musta packed on some maja weight if this is even real. I'm not up to date on all my movies but wasn't he in that crappy SpeedRacer film? He was NOT that big and that wasn't too too long ago. It's sad man, I LOVE John goodman. He is such a funny actor. He reminds me so much of my dad. The way he would cut up on Roseanne, his stature, everything. Hopefully he will realize he is this much bigger and go get himself on a diet. The world can't lose John Goodman….he's too awesome.

That's what my dad looked like before he died of a heart attack. It sucks, I miss him. However, I acknowledge how much of it was personal choice. People can eat healthy and exercise and work hard at improving themselves or they don't and they die. Sad, but it's no one's fault but their own at the end of the day. I'm not saying that some people don't have a thyroid disease, but the majority of overweight people simply don't take care of themselves. It's no different from people drinking or smoking themselves to death. Major tragedy. I hope John Goodman gets help before it's too late, he's a great talent.

Oh dear. Psychological problems are just that - problems of the mind. Which basically means your personality.
Psychiatric problems are genuine medical conditions caused by random chemical imbalances.
People who are overweight, anorexic or alcoholic made themselves that way, their weakness of character made them eat the way that they do, which screwed with their bodies thus causing their brains to become all screwy. Enough of this American AAA shit, you are NOT powerless, you are just making bad choices.
Ever notice how people from countries with actual problems don't have masses of anorexics/bulimics/obese people. It's not addiction, it's bullshit caused by not having anything better to worry about or for thinking that weight is actually something that you should be allowed to obsess over day in and day out.
