As we mentioned earlier, Barbara Walters has booked Patrick Swayze in his first television interview - airing tomorrow night - since the actor revealed last year that he was battling pancreatic cancer.
And during his interview, the 56 year-old admits, "There's a lot of fear here. There's a lot of stuff going on. Yeah, I'm scared. Yeah, I'm angry. Yeah, I'm [asking] why me. Yeah, I'm all this stuff. You can bet that I'm going through hell. And I've only seen the beginning of it."
Breaks our heart.
Illness sucks!
Swayze says he also remembers when he first felt sick back in 2007. He was celebrating New Year's Eve with his wife and says, "I tried to have champagne, and it would be like pouring acid, you know, on an open wound."
Soon after he said his "indigestion issues got gigantic and constant. And then I started thinking, I'm getting skinny. I dropped about 20 pounds in the blink of an eye. And then when you see it in the mirror, when all of a sudden, you pull your eyes down and the bottom of your eyes go yellow and jaundice sets in — then you know something's wrong."
Patrick went to see his doctors for help and they discovered a malignant tumor in his midsection as well as a small mass on his liver. After several days and many more procedures, they discovered he had Stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
As for death, Swayze reveals, "I don't know what's on the other side. It tests everything I believe in … that here is something unique in all of us that does not, does not die."
You gotta have faith, whatever that may be.
Adds Patrick, "What winning is to me is not giving up, is no matter what's thrown at me, I can take it. And I can keep going."

Its so sad. I was diagnosed with cancer and a few other diseases a few years ago. I have been on bedrest for three years now. It sucks. So I really feel for him. Its a terrible and hard thing to go through. Thanks Perez for keeping me entertained all day!

My aunt used to date this guy that was I guess evil and she took a picture of him one day and in the picture behind the guy was a demon standing. It was fukinfreaky fun to see that.
I've hung out with him a couple of times and it's hard to see him going through such pain, especially since he IS such a mentally strong person. If anyone can beat it, he can, but the survival rate is so low that the odds are against him. Our prayers are with ya.
I watched my Mother live with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer for 17 months. It was intolerable to watch this strong, vibrant and loving woman wither away to this cancer. But, the whole time she had this will to live and perserver to see her daughters and grandchildren grow up. I was there in her last weeks and by her side when she took her last breath. I would never wish that on anyone. But, all I can think when I see those with pancreatic cancer is "walking dead" I don't know how Patrick had the will to film a show while recieving treatments. The man has some major balls. Kudos to him and his wife.

My prayers are with you Patrick. I just watched my neighbor die from pancreatic cancer. She lasted about two years from diagnosis and it has to be one of the worse cancers out there. I pray your one of the miracles.
The answers to all his questions are in the gospel of John - about 30 or so pages that contain all wisdom and answers. Hope he gets up his spiritual strength to face what he will. God bless you, Patrick!

I hope he will survive this horrible disease!! My uncle died last february, at the same cancer Patrick has. I wish him all the best, and I hope he will get trough this, he is way to young to leave us!
My mum (no, I'm not dyslexic - just Australian!!) passed away on April 27th of last year from pancreas cancer. She was 53. Now, I'm not going to get too deep and meaningful here, cos I know this ain't group therapy, but what I do want to say is that I hope Patrick Swayze has as much love and laughter surrounding him as my mum did.
I also hope he doesn't pay attention to the medics who quote such inspirational gems as 'The vast majority of people with pancreas cancer die within 18 months of diagnosis'.
My mum kicked cancer butt for over 4 years, and even on the morning she passed away, she was full of courage, hope and grace.
I am sure that Patrick and his loved ones don't yet realise the strength and resolve they already possess to help them get through this, and I send them a million blessings and wishes for brighter days ahead.
