The Travoltas Return to America With Jett's Remains

John Travolta, his wife, Kelly Preston, and their daughter Ella left the Bahamas on Monday night with the remains of their beloved Jett, who died on Friday.
They've returned to Ocala, Florida, where they have a home.
"Everything was in place, the cremation was completed, and they decided to leave," family friend and Bahamas government official Obie Wilchcombe told the media on Tuesday.
As previously mentioned, an autopsy was completed Monday afternoon.
Jett Travolta's death certificate apparently cites 'seizures' as the cause of death.

DURING HER THREE YEARS OF TREATMENT MY SISTER DIED. Celebrities don’t always have the option of grieving peace especially with all the conflicting information concerning Jetts death. Perez is not the only one talking about this; it’s all over the news and the net.
Sad and tragic. As a pharmaceutical scientist and person having epilepsiy I just can't believe that they tried only ONE medication against the seizures and then left their son without any protection against these life threatening seizures when their are more than FIFTEEN kinds oft active indgridients that might have had helped their son. Normally you try at least 5-6 different kind before you quit.
As a scientist I call their choice of "NO TREATMENT" irresponsible as it left their son UNPROTECTED against seizures and a condition called Sudden death in epilepsy (SdiE). Whether Scientology or bad just bad doctors are to blame for a decisicion of the parents that lead to the tragic death I don't know. Judge for yourself.

Very sad… I hope at some point, we will hear the actual details regarding Jett's health condition. I'm also curious why he wasn't on meds. God bless this family.
Even notice ALL of the pictures of Jett are of him just being transported ( golf cart, plane, walking in an airport) its just strange. People say the Travoltas just don't want exploit their children but….google their daughter…red carpet pics, movie premieres, etc.

Why was it when Anna Nicole Smith died and her son for that matter; every single detail of the autopsy were released? However w/ Jett all we know is that "the cause was due to a seizure disorder". What was the time of death? Very standard piece of info that goes on every autopsy report and is typically public information. Their Bahimian "friend of the family" that reported on the autopsy results was so very vague… just curious. Then they rush to cremate him and get the hell outta dodge. Very sad, I feel for Jett, but am happy to know he's finally being well taken care of for eternity.

I honestly think we should change the law that until a child is of legal age and mentality that parents cannot go outside medical doctor suggestions. Maybe they have to get several opinions. But we all know that no doctor would have said ahh it didnt work yank his meds it will work out. Come on. If a parent is arrested for murder for allowing their kids to walk in the snow and freeze to death a parent should be prosecuted for allowing a child not to take medically necessary medication and/or treatment. Beyond the meds there could have been surgery.

So terribly sad. Not to beat the family while they are down, but I wish they had embraced the fact that Jett was autistic and had given him the medical treatment that would have made a difference. Treatment for autistic children is extremely expensive, but they could have afforded it with their wealth. Look at Jenny McCarthy's son. He benefitted tremendously from proper and extensive treatment. I really do pray for their comfort.

In many countries outside the U.S. parents' aren't indeed so free to choose what is "best" for their child. In the U.K. for instance was a big court case recently where a girl of 13 had to sue her doctors since she and her parents wanted to quit her probably live saving treatment against cancer. She won.
I live in Germany were we have something called "failure to render assistance" Not administering probably saving medication to your child definitly falls into that category. Don't get me wrong here.
As a person having epilepsy (controlled by medication these days) Jon Travolta and his wife have just been cruel . I know what a seizure feels like, too. ea. Broke my jaw three times, shoulder twice during seizures. You bite your tongue, you probably even wet yourself each time etc. Now LOOK at word of their own press release: " each seizure was like a death"
Can you believe what this child was going trough?? There is something so wrong with the death of this boy.

Scientology is dangerous. Type in "Lisa McPherson" or "Theresa Duncan" or "Quinten Hubbard" and you will find the endless list of casualties created by Scientology. Jett may be another casualty. In 2003 Preston told Montel Williams that when Jett was 2 he became "very, very ill, but it seemed like flu symptoms" before being diagnosed with Kawasaki disease. The condition, which usually affects children from ages 2 to 5, can cause inflammation of the arteries. Usually treatable, it can lead to lasting heart damage in rare cases.
She credited a detoxification program based on the writings of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard with helping to improve Jett's health.
This is so sad all the way around and scares me to death as I have a daughter with a seizure disorder and developmental delays. I think what bothers me are the posters who assume that they hid Jett, maybe they were protecting him (you see the love in their eyes for their son). Any child is precious but a special needs child holds a very special place in your heart and their innocence brings such joy to those lucky enough to know them. Another reason why they probably didn't take their son to premiers etc, is that the flashing lightbulbs could trigger a seizure. Please don't judge them, you don't know them and you don't live their lives.

I call BS. If you had E, you would know there are other methods (which are usually better for kids) than meds, such as neurofeedback. Also SUDEP is as common for people on meds. Plus, unless you are their doctor, you have no idea what treatments they have tried (except for the statement that they tried Depakote). People who actually have E know the heartbreak of seizure disorders, not a single person I know with E is putting down the Travoltas. Shame on you!
Qazter, while I agree that the Travolta's should have given Jett anti-seizure medication (if that was indeed the illness), there are no laws on the books in this country, that I know of, to force a parent to give their child medication. I'm sure that issue will be visited in the coming days.
Meanwhile, the media/press makes money off the misfortune of human beings. It's disgusting.
They give us a reason to smile, they give us a break away from reality with their work.

1. Neurofeedback is scientifically not proven. There is no scientific evidence whatsoever for this method. I have never heard of person how has benefited of it
especially not children. Many anti-seizure medications on the other have been approved by the FDA even young for children up to the young age of two. Jett was 16.
Or do you mean E-Meter neurofeedback and auditing offered by Scientology. I really doubt that it works!!

and no it's not a crime let his son die from a seizure while on vacation on the Bahamas. I really don't know the circumstances except that he died of seizure without being on any medication.
4. Occurence of SUDEP can be reduced with appropriate medication. It is not a common condition at all.

Although very sad, I doubt seriously that this young mad suffered from Kawaski Disease. A quick look at the AHA website will rule out this disease as the cause of seizures. His parents' decision to stop his medication was however very unwise and most likely contributed to his untimely demise.

I feel (honestly) so bad for dad, mom, and Ella. No matter what, nothing can change the fact that Jett's death is horrible. He was an innocent teenager who was also ill, no fault of his, of course. Hopefully Scientology (and two of it's devoted followers) is/are not responsible for the possible lack of treatment Jett received.
I also want to note that the med that he was on that stopped working, Depakote, is a crappy, outdated med that I personally perceive as evil. I was on the med for about a year, and I hated it. The med is known for it's patients having to keep upping the dose. I also know a handful of people who were on it and their experiences were lackluster and more painful (physically or psychologically) when compared to any of the positive outcomes resulting from the daily ingestion of any one of the pill's versions (ex: extended release).
