Quite A Gathering

For the first time in over two decades, all the living U.S. Presidents, and President-elect Barack Obama, met together at the White House on Wednesday.
According to reports, Obama suggested to George Bush last November that it'd be a good idea to have the Presidents meet up for lunch at the White House.
It seems Bush liked the idea because on Wednesday the US Presidents met up for lunch. The day also included a short private meeting in the Oval office before, just between Bush and Obama.
This is a pretty big event, considering that when Presidents are usually in the same room together, it's either for a funeral or an important ceremony. The Presidents haven't met up together since a 1981 meeting.
Bush recently said in an interview, "It's going to be an interesting lunch." And although he didn't have an agenda down for their topics of conversation, he did said, "I don't know. I'm sure (Obama's) going to ask us all questions, I would guess. If not, we'll just share war stories."
The others invited include Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush, and Bill Clinton.
Maybe one day there will be a woman amongst that bunch or a Latino!
Even better yet, a Latina!!!!!!

Perez, it should not matter WHAT nationality or race or sex or sexual orientation a person is… to want someone to hold a high powered office JUST because he or she is a minority of some sort is a huge problem in this country. We vote for people, and choose people, and allow people into medical school for all the wrong reasons. Reverse discrimination is indeed discrimination. Hey, just since the Bush's are so war profiteering - let's not forget — we have not won a war since WWII — though the Bush clan sure does like to start them — with complete indifference to the loss of life of the young men and women in our country - and others.
Alright, Perez. Time to give credit where credit is due. "Bush the blowhard," as you called him yesterday was a gracious host to Obama. This, despite the fact that the Obama campaign blistered Bush unmercifully during the campaign. This type of lunch isn't tradition, but Bush went out of his way to host it, despite having a myriad of challenges piled up on his desk. Political analysts are already calling this the most gracious and smooth transition in Presidential history, and Bush's Administration deserves the credit. It's a marked contrast to how the Clinton regime treated the incoming Bush Administration back in 2001. Come on, Perez. You can do it. Give Bush a little credit for putting politics aside and helping the Obama team as they gear up for duty.
