Hockey Player Takes A Bite Out Of…Another Player?

Sure, scuffles are pretty common in hockey. If we went to a hockey game and didn't see a fight, we'd want our money back!
But, how about some good old fashioned…biting?
That's exactly what happened in the most recent Senators versus Buffalos game.
(The Senators is the team for which Carrie Underwood's new boyfriend plays!)
In a first period scuffle, Senators' forward Jarkko Ruutu totally bit Buffalos' enforcer Andrew Peters' gloved right thumb!
Crazy! We didn't know hockey players even had teeth to bite with!
The replay footage shows Peters on top of Ruutu with Peters' hand in his face. As the brawl continues, Ruutu chomps down on Peters. Peters recoils, visibly yelling, "He fucking bit me!" with a little bit of on ice dramatics to emphasize his point.
Unlike that, you know, other famous sports biter, this incident didn't require stitches.
But it might require a rabies shot! You never know where those hockey players have been!
Ruutu claims he did not bite him, and didn't get in trouble, but they put his victim on an unsportsmanlike time out for causing the ruckus in the first place!
Ruutu could make fast friends with a rabid Twilight fan!

It's not the first time that this happen in hockey.
It actually happen a few days before : during the finals of the IIHF World Juniors in Ottawa, a Sweden player bite a Canadian player in the goalie's crease. But, they never really talk about it.
Yeah Jarkko Ruutu is very agressive player. always getting into fights even when he plays in Team Finland. But Leijonat (translate: Lions, that's what we call our hockey team) would not be the same without him

Well… certainly looks like he bit him…. But I've seen some hockey players (and football…. aka soccer) who deserve and Oscar for the preformances they put up! Nothing works better if you want to put someone on the other team in the penelty box then faking an injury.
Although, that injury looked pretty real.

Ruutu did get into trouble… he was suspended for 2 games plus lost about 37,000 in pay. As far as Peters overracting, you have to do that from time to time to make sure ou get your point accrossed. i am not a fan of Andrew Peters or the Sabres ((avid PITTSBURGH PENGUINS fan)) so i am not defending him in any way. Ru use to play for the pens and that what he's known for, the nhl isn't going to change that.
p.s. even with the glove on the bite still did break skin!

Talk about OLD. This happened days ago. I hate when Perez tries to "blog" on sports. The obvious lack of any knowledge to do with sports shows up. He didn't bob his head to bite, he did bite, and it was because his hand was in his face. If you knew hockey rules - instigating the incident is a no-no. Won't matter if someone REACTS - even if it is biting. If the first dude goes after on his own (especially after the whistle)- it's called a PENALTY for any player. Besides, the Wild are the best anyways.
Even if Gaborik is gone…. just wait til Boogaard comes back, to his old self, laughing at guys during fights. But even then, it WAS a gloved hand, and the reaction was more dramatic than "I'll never let go Jack." All players of all teams have a certain stage presence…
I also want to point out.. that if you shove your hand in someones mouth… obviously its going to touch teeth.. his glove was on when he shoved his hand into Ruutu's mouth.. it wasn't like Ruutu yanked the glove off and aimed for his hand!!

Jarkko Ruutu was probably pissed that Peters put his hand and not his dick in his mouth.
The Buffaloes? LOL I about cried with Ruutu left the Penguins last season! He doesn't have a lot of teeth, but the ones he has are all jagged and stuff, so I woudn't want to get bit by him. It would be like razor wire.

There's no question that Ruutu toes the line, but Peters is a whiny bitch. "There's no place for this in hockey!" Oh, PLEASE. His reaction on the ice was SO overblown; it was as if Ruutu had torn the finger right off. Cry me a river; he sounds like Dwayne Roloson.
