Travolta To Appear At The Golden Globes?

The creators of Bolt have sent John Travolta their condolences.
Byron Howard told says, "Our hearts go out to him [Travolta]. He has got such a soft heart, and is such a genuine guy. He loves his family obviously and we really feel for him."
Chris Williams added, "He spoke of his family quite often and very lovingly, so we cant imagine what he is going through. We are definitely thinking of him…I'm sure they need some time."
Travolta, however, isn't giving up on his commitments. The actor is still - as of now - scheduled to present at Sunday's Golden Globes, where he is nominated for Best Original Song for his duet with Miley Cyrus in the kiddie flick.

I hope he's ok. if he does attend it's obviously because he's trying to cope.

Poor guy. I watched the "Larry King" interview replay last night, and I fell in love with him all over again! His poor son looked just like him!!

Anyone who says bad things about someone who just lost a child no matter who it is, should be shot in the face. shame on you people.
It will be tough no matter what. I know he is just trying to cope one day at a time…..getting back to doing "normal" things. It is hard losing a child no matter the circumstances. With his son having this seizure disorder, it has probably always been in his mind the possibility of losing Jett. So in some ways, he has probably thought about the day when it would happen. That being said…..until you have lost a child, don't condemn what another person is doing. Some need to be with people ( travolta) and others want to be away from the world for awhile. He isn't going to party. He is doing his job and being with friends.
Their loss is unimaginable. Having said that, I hope he lays low for the Globes. This is not a time to put your grief on display. I respect Jennifer Hudson for the way she has handled her private grief, privately.
Everyone handles grief differently. I have no idea why Perez brought this up other then to get people to post mean things about a man grieving for his son, which makes perez about equal with scum. I have been through situations somewhat similiar to the Travoltas and I could not sit at home, I needed to be busy. John is probably doing the something-he knows he does not need to honor his commitment, but sitting at home, reliving everything, thinking if there was ANYTHING he could have done differently to have a different outcome will eat you alive. Do not judge unless you have been in the same EXACT situation. That means you PEREZ

I think it's way too early! But if he truly believes his son has moved on to another life (like Scientology supposedly teaches), then maybe that idea is helping him move forward. Who knows.

Don't go John. It is too soon. I don't know how you could get through something like that (thousands of people saying, "sorry for your loss" all night?). If you can go to this thing and hear that as many times as you will, and not break down, I just don't know if you are human.

I think that is how celebrities role. I remember being SHOCKED when I saw a picture of Mary Wilson from The Supremes all dressed up and smiling for the paps at some event ONE WEEK after her young son was killed in an accident.
It is just unimaginable to me that just after losing your precious son you could parade yourself out at a fake famewhoring Hollywood awards ceremony. Why would he do this, words fail me. I hope it's not in the least bit true. Shame on you Perez if you have the wrong information on this.
His son is hardly cold and he's out on the town. Disgraceful!
I admire him for wanting him to keep his commitments but I sure will understand if he can't keep this one. The enormity of losing his son certainly overrides any commitment to a dumb awards show. I'm fairly certain most people will understand if he's not there Sunday. I hope he and Kelly can some day find peace.

I really hope he doesn't show up to the Globes. I get he wants to send a message to the public that he's coping, but I think this is too soon to be so public about a thing like this. Take some time to grieve in private and not let the shameless media in on some kind of circus, which is what they will make of this when they aren't kissing Brad and Angelina's ass.
Where is there a rule written that it's inappropriate for him to show up to the Golden Globes? Maybe he needs to throw himself back into his work and be amongst friends and supporters to be able to grieve in his own way. Just because this isn't something YOU would do, doesn't mean other people are the same. way. Some of you are just braindead. I think its a very brave and bold move for him. I may not agree with his religious choices, but in this country, we have the right to choose our own religion, whether others agree with it or not. Way to go John - I hope I see you there.

I hope he cancels his appearance. He should disappear from the spotlight for a while. I think it would be fodder if he made an appearance and he'd get crap for it. Why give people something to talk about?

Whatever helps him cope is how I look at it. There is a social stigma that makes people grieve longer than they need to because they feel like they have to or they they will be frowned upon.
