Travoltas Issue a Gracious Open Letter to Their Florida Neighbors

Ocala, Florida residents, John Travolta and Kelly Preston, issued the following letter to their neighbors, via the city's paper, as a thank you for all the support that's been given to them, following the death of their beloved son, Jett:
"To The People of Ocala
The enormous amount of love, support and condolence we have received from this community has been most humbling. Comforting words, thoughts and prayers of Ocala’s citizens have made an impossibly painful situation, a little less painful.
The actions of Ocala’s community leaders, its law enforcement professionals, our neighbors at Jumbolair and its surrounding communities have offered us the dignity to grieve the loss of our son and Ella’s brother in peace. For this we will always be grateful.
From the people who drove hours to drop off cards and flowers at our doorstep, to the service providers who made Jett’s ceremony so beautiful, thank you. Every person who we have encountered has offered to do anything in their power to help us, but add that they feel powerless to do so. We want all of you to know that you have already helped us. By sharing our grief, you lessen our burden. For all of the people who have kept Jett in their prayers, know that those prayers have given us inspiration and strength.
What we have experienced in Ocala transcends neighborly civility. We have been treated as family. Although we lost a good part of the joy and radiance of our family, your embracing us as a member of your own has helped us to contend with our loss.
In parting, we want all of you to cherish your loved ones and your friends like there was no tomorrow, to live your lives to the fullest by continuing to help one another, and to be true to yourselves.

May God Bless your whole family. The pain does ease after time, but you will never forget your boy. A time WILL come where you can remember and smile at your memories. Don't try to outrun the grieving process, you must let it take you over to move on, and remember most people are behind you and praying for you and your boy, and the others, they have just never been thru the shock and pain of losing a loved one, and I personally hope, no matter how rude they are, that they never have to know! Good Luck and take ya'lls time coming back.

What a wonderful expression of gratitude and that they took the time to do so during this time of their own personal grief speaks volumes about their character. They still have my thoughts and prayers. No one should ever have to suffer the loss of a child, yet these two are doing so with grace and dignity. I hope they can some day find some inner peace.

That is absolutely beautiful. Anyone and everyone no matter who they are should be able to grieve in peace. How nice of him to thank them but more importantly, how nice it is to see that there are communities still out there that have good values and respect. We should all be taking note of this in our own communities as a great example of human decency and also practice this in the future.
That was so beautiful and gracious! I don't know that I would even have the presence of mind to write something so kind and eloquent at such a time.
My prayers continue to be with the Travoltas as they go through a loss no one should have to bear.

The Travoltas are responding in kind. Not sure what the problem is! Oh wait - there isn't one. Not for us, we didn't just lose our ONLY SON.
Despite some of the negative comments I've been reading, I think it's very considerate of them to think of the people who expressed their sadness to them. They didn't have to issue anything saying thank you to people around them, but they did and it shows they care about their neighbors. It's good to have a support group around in times like this - even if it's people around you.

What's the big deal they or someone in their camp issued a letter of thanks. Why aren’t they addressing that the “nanny” is being questioned by the police concerning Jetts’ death and negligence.? The only ones who were allowed to be at the memorial were other scientologists; very creepy.
