Law & Order: SVU's Mariska Hargitay Suffers Collapsed Lung

Law & Order: SVU's Mariska Hargitay is suffering from a collapsed lung, it has been revealed!
Her rep says, "Mariska Hargitay has been sidelined with a pneumothorax (a partially collapsed lung)." She will, however, "appear in all episodes for the rest of the season of Law &Order: SVU."
Whoa! That's dedication!
No cause was given, but we're going to assume she's doing okay if she's still going to work!
A collapsed lung usually occurs as the result of an injury to the chest, but not always. Treatment usually involves oxygen and observation, though more serious cases may require surgery.
We hope she feels better soon!

What”s the story with all of these actors and celebs getting sick all of a sudden. are there toxic gases in hollywood or something. i hope she is okay - she's cool plus she has a young kid. The show sucks now though. they should cancel it.

I read someplace that her collapsed lung was caused by a sledding accident over the holidays.
I've had a collapsed lung twice. It hurts like hel, but really not to serious. Easy to fix. The DR said it happens alot in taller ppl that are active. Whitch she is. Hope she feels better soon

i have suffered from pneumothorax 7 years ago & it never happened again. sometimes when you have some sort of flu, u can't ride an airplane if your lung is already a bit collapsed coz it would trigger a full collapse. i haven't ridden on a plane for 7 years now. get well soon mariska. u are my idol! i love u in SVU.
i had surgery for my collapsed lung though, it took me almost 3 weeks for my lungs to inflate so i was intubated & strapped to my bed for weeks.
She's a stunner and a really talented actress. Her mum was an icon in her own time but only for having big boobs and being a blonde. Mariska hasn't used her mums fame to get where she is which is awesome.

I had 3 pnumothorax and ended up having to have a part of my lung removed, I wish that pain on no one and wish her nothing but the best and a speedy recovery.

my friend had a collapsed lung last year
the doctors said it was more common in skinny teenage boys
and he had to have a tubes stuck inside his chest sucking out fluids and stuff and he was in the hospital for like 2 weeks
he couldnt go on airplanes or go to colorado ha..
but yeah that sucks, hope she gets better
