The legends who make up the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame are getting a diverse group of new members this year!
Joining the elite group will now be Run-DMC, who used to call themselves the Kings of Rock.
And along with Run-DMC, this year's newest members also include Metallica, the Imperials, soul singer Bobby Womack, guitarist Jeff Beck, and doo-wop group Little Anthony.
In an interview today, Darryl "DMC" McDaniels said, "I'm a rap dude, I'm an MC from Hollis (a neighborhood in New York's borough of Queens), just rockin' the mic, and to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, with the Beatles, and (Bob) Dylan, and the rock 'n' roll gods? It's ridiculous! Ridiculous in a good way."

Does Metallica still have fans?? Perez, are you kidding?? How do you still not get that Metallica is one of the BIGGEST bands in the WORLD. Your precious little Katy Perry can only dream of achieve a fraction of their success and fan base. Most bands don't even get that far. Metallica could take a shit and sell millions of copies, they will be remembered forever. Katy Perry will be lucky to have people even remember who she is in 5 years.

This is a good year!! Old scholl music is the best I actually like RUN DMC and I am a hardcore metal fan, which is why im stoked Metallica did it. Jeff Beck is awesome too, Im so excited I cant wait to watch the show. Just one question though? Will Jason Newsted be present?? And is Cliff Burton getting inducted too????
Fuck Jann Wenner and his stupid ass Rock and roll hall of fame. What the fuck ever, it's like his treehouse that he only wants certain kids from the neighborhood to play in it. There are SO MANY bands deserving of being in there, but Wenner is a typical stuck up music 'writer', like his butt buddy Dave Marsh so they don't consider bands they don't like as not being worthy.
And isnt it absurd that rock and roll needs a hall of fame in the first place? Don't album sales kind of cement the status of bands and not some stupid museum?
I'm not a huge Kiss fan, one band for example, but no one can deny the impact they've had on rock and roll in the last 30 years. Millions of records sold, millions of tickets sold, but the limpdicks at Rolling Stone have their bias against that kind of music for whatever reason.
Perezzie, darling, I know you're only a couple years older than me (I'm 25). But it's good to be up on your music history. It's Little Anthony AND The Imperials, they're one group. And it's about damn time they've been recognized.

When I went, I made a beeline for the gift shop. No way was I gonna pay twenty for this self-promoting and self-congratulatory crap. The recession may signal the end for this place.

I'm all for Run DMC's induction! I mean there are a wide variety of groups and solo artists in the Rock Hall of Fame and why not a rap group that so furiously integrated rock n' roll into their style?! (and that was with or without Aerosmith!)

The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame is the biggest joke ever pulled on the public as far as entertainment related stuff goes. What started out as a good idea has been prostituted by a few egomaniacs that would rather allow questionable talent to be inducted rather then talent that deserves to be there. You don't have to be a fan of groups like KISS, Styx, REO Speedwagon, Rush, Iggy and the Stooges, Journey or fans of artist like Alice Cooper or Ted Nugent to know that all of those artist made a significant contribution to rock and roll over the years. Alice Cooper basically started the theatrical style of music. KISS inspired many musicians over the years with their over the top productions and catchy tunes. To pass over these acts is practically criminal. Its a shame!
Perez, The Imperials and Little Anthony are NOT two different groups. They're one group, and the name of the group is "Little Anthony and The Imperials". Get your rock and roll shit straight, dude. If you're going to blog about stuff, at least get it right!!
