The original version of "Im Real" uses a beat from a song called "Firecracker" that mariah originally used for Loverboy. Once she found out what happen, Mariah changed Loverboy. The remix version of "I'm Real" with JA Rule was originally a concept of Mariah and Ja Rule singing and harmonizing back and fourth from another song off the Glitter album called "If We". Tommy herd "If We" and told Irv Gotti to go and record a song just like it with JLo and Ja Rule thus giving you the "I'm Real Murda Remix"
