Fashion Fella Valentino, Tax Man Target
Italian designer Valentino and his long-time biz partner have been hit by a $39 million tax fine in Italy.
That's a lot of millions!
According to the country's tax office, the celebrity dress maker avoided declaring income in Italy by moving his residence outside the country, while effectively keeping their business operations there.
Valentino relocated to London about 10 years ago, but is "highly surprised by the position taken by the Italian authority" and "will take the appropriate action accordingly," said one of his reps.
Reports say that, more seriously, the fine could lead to a criminal investigation and even a prison sentence.
However, because of his age (76-years old!) it’s unlikely he would be sent to prison.
Agreeing to pay the fine would apparently put an end to the matter, if he couldn't clear himself of the accusations.
Doesn't matter who you are, or where you're from, the tax man is always out to nab you, bbs!

the tax man is not out to nab anyone-they are just trying to get people who decide they are above paying taxes like everyone else. especially people like him-he is rich and just wants to be richer. Don't worry! Italian tax authorities often do that but there'll be no problems if he can prove that he actually lives in London. If he cannot prove it and earns most of his income in Italy, owns houses in Italy and so on… well, it's a big big problem. Why do I know that? Because I am Italian!!!
