      seriously, some people could benefit from a macroeconomics class because all of this wouldn't be a surprise! i'm not a fan of bush, but people need to stop blaming him for the economic downfall because it was NOT entirely his fault. the war is not what led us to this point. it was years of bad decisions on the stock brokers. welcome to capitalism, my friends… if you took a political science course you'd know that this system is just to make the rich richer.

      I fail to see how this is a bad thing. Clear Channel fucked radio up with their bland programming that no one loves. Here's hoping we get some stations worth listening to out of this mess.

      HAHA! Good. Good riddance. Clear Channel is an evil empire. A horrible company that forces nothing but awful down our throats. They are why I stopped listening to radio years ago.

      I hope the people find new jobs with a company that won't leave them with a shameful legacy.

      Those bitches at Clear Channel are partially responsible for the state of music suxing the high hard one by secretly bringing in payola to DJs to play the same songs over and over, not exploring new music, playing music only dictated to them by the corporate bozos who own the record companies that many of the artists they play are on. Did you know that in Phoenix on the station 96.9 (a Clear Channel station) they are still playing the same sets of "safe" songs from 1999??? Turn to the Jazz station (a Clear Channel Station as well) and they're still playing on a regular basis, "Smooth Operator" by Sade and it's in rotation!!!!!! Clear Channel, Janet Jackson, the Religious Hyprocrites, Politicians, the Undersexed house wife, the FCC, Free Speech haters, the dead creator of the Reality Show genre, A.D.D., A.D.H.D, MTV, BET, VH1, Radio, Congress, and that effed up President are all responsible for the financial situation of the world, radio and the music industry. So I guess the only place to make money now is to start another Celebrity church. How about the Clear - "Channel Church of the Religious Hyprocrites??" Eff all of you and I'm glad you're almost gone! I like you better that way!

      I have always said that Clear Channel is the Walmart of the radio business. It's just one big evil empire that has turned radio into cheap plastic crap. I feel bad for those who will lose their jobs, but until the FCC lowers the number of how many stations a company can own in a market, terrestrial radio will continue to suck and suck and suck.

      wow you people are saying fuck those bitches at clear channel. The people working at your local radio station are good people. These are the people that are going to lose their jobs. The people that you are blaming for the sad state of the industry are the one's firing these people. When your local radio personality is fired they are going to pipe in a dj from another city, and then when there is a disaster in your town there will be nobody at the radio station to report it. Yeah there is t.v. but what happens when you lose power. You'll hear nothing but gossip about britney.

      Uh-oh— I work at Clear Channel

      –and for the CC haters– I'm a good person– you may not agree with the CEOs and big dogs (neither do all of CCs employees believe it or not!), but as you get lower down the food chain are a lot of hard working good people at this company.

Clear Channel may air some right-winged radio programming, but not all of it is, and not every employee who works there is right-winged.       To all of you who are rejoicing in this news because you hate Clear Channel… think about it. Clear Channel is NOT suffering as a result of these layoffs. Their execs and shareholders are sitting pretty today They are saving money. The only people who are worse off are the already underpaid employees who lost their jobs today. Clear Channel is still alive and well. They have only lost a small fraction of their workforce. Clear Channel Radio everywhere will continue to be bland. That's not going to change. So if you're one of the ignorant low-life's above who wrote something like "CLEAR CHANNEL IS A PIECE OF SH*T and I am HAPPY to see this news," go take a long walk on a short pier.
